This inspiring 3-day event highlights Thomson Reuters volunteers walking dogs through the streets of Rockwell, passionately advocating for animal welfare. We embrace the ‘PAWuse’ from our daily routines, taking small yet meaningful strides toward a brighter future for our beloved furry companions. 🐾🫶🏻

The GVN-Manila’s 14th Volunteer for the Community Day, themed "An Early Christmas," is a heartwarming event with Voice of the Free. It features baking and parol-making workshops, where participants create delicious treats and traditional Filipino Christmas lanterns. These activities celebrate the festive season while supporting and empowering survivors, fostering community spirit and togetherness. 🎄😊

In celebration of , GVN Manila is currently running a donation drive to support one of our partner NGOs. Individuals or groups can participate in sponsorships, with each kit containing essential art supplies and hygiene items. 😊

This year’s VCD theme is “Larong Pinoy, Larong Atin!” which aspires to relive the fun of playing Filipino street games like Patintero, sungka, langit-lupa, etc. With our partner organization, Voice of the Free, the kids and TR volunteers enjoyed their Saturday playing under the sun and showing their youthful energy to win each match.

Two weeks ago, we received an email from Mary-Alice Vuicic, Chief People Officer of Thomson Reuters, that Global Volunteer Network- Manila won the first ever Carla Jones Social Impact Award. The award is in honor of Carla Jones, an advocate of the Thomson Reuters Foundation and was the head of the Social Impact Institute team. It aims to recognize employees' volunteerism and passion for advocating for causes that elevate their communities.

Since 2017, GVN Manila works closely with Voice of the Free - VF Foundation, Inc., a non-profit NGO in the Philippines that rescues survivors of human trafficking, modern slavery, cybersex, and forced labor. In total, we have already logged 4200 volunteer hours, donated $10,000 community champion grants, $36,000 volunteer grants and $1,545 matching gifts.

Getting this award will help us raise awareness against human trafficking, not just in the Philippines, but globally. And the $10,000 USD donation will help the survivors especially during the pandemic.

We share this milestone with our officers, sponsors, partner groups, senior leaders and to all volunteers who supported our activities!
