HISTORY 📜

Barangay Maura, located in Aparri, Cagayan, is a coastal community near the Cagayan River and Babuyan Channel. It is home to the Cagayan State University – Aparri Campus, a key educational institution in the region.

In 1993, Maura was part of a health and sanitation program that improved coastal cleanliness and public health. 

In 2018, Maura faced challenges due to Super Typhoon Ompong, leading to evacuations because of storm surge warnings.

As of the 2020 Census, Maura had a population of 8,094, making up about 11.76% of Aparri’s total population.
