From Tribute to Action:
Mutya ng Arakan 2025 Heeds the Bayanihan Call

In celebration of the 127th Philippine Independence Day, the Municipality of Arakan held solemn rites on June 12, 2025, at 7:00 AM in the Municipal Hall grounds to honor the legacy of Filipino heroes. The ceremony commenced with the flag raising and singing of the Philippine National Anthem, followed by a tribute at the heroes' monuments, structures that stand as enduring symbols of the nation’s struggle and sacrifice for freedom. Several other segments took place throughout the observance, led by local officials and representatives from various sectors of the municipality, with Hon. Jeam D. Villasor at the helm.

Marking the occasion with pride and purpose were the official candidates of Mutya ng Arakan 2025, whose presence reflected not only grace and cultural identity but also a strong commitment to civic engagement and nation-building.

Later that morning, the candidates attended the official opening of the Gawad Kalinga Bayani Challenge 2025 at 9:00 AM, unfolded at the Municipal Gymnasium. Gawad Kalinga is a nation-building movement that seeks to end poverty through holistic community development, spanning housing, education, health, livelihood, and values formation. In partnership with the local government, the Bayani Challenge kicked off in Arakan with a call for volunteerism and collective action. The candidates led a spirited performance of “Piliin Mo ang Pilipinas,” energizing the crowd and setting the tone for the day’s mission.

The activity continued with a unity parade to Barangay Malibatuan, where one of Gawad Kalinga’s flagship housing projects is currently being implemented. Upon arrival, the candidates joined the community in a brief program before engaging in hands-on volunteer work, filling sacks with soil, shoveling, and contributing to the initial groundwork for future homes.

As Gawad Kalinga aptly declared, “The ground is set, the homes are rising! Now, it’s your turn to make a mark!”

The Mutya ng Arakan 2025 candidates have indeed made theirs, not only as ambassadors of culture and elegance but as modern-day Filipinas who carry the heart of a bayanihan warrior. In stepping up to serve, they have brought to life what Independence Day stands for, moving with purpose from tribute to action, for a more empowered future generation.

Ngayong Hunyo 2, 2025, sa ganap na alas-8 ng umaga, nagkaroon ng isang mahalagang courtesy call ang labing-tatlong (13) kandidata ng Search for Mutya ng Arakan 2025 sa tanggapan ng Pamahalaang Bayan ng Arakan. Bahagi ito ng kanilang pageant journey na nagpapakita ng respeto, pasasalamat, at pakikiisa sa lokal na pamahalaan at komunidad.

Pinangunahan ni Mayor Jeam D. Villasor ang pagtanggap sa mga kandidata, kasama ang mga opisyal ng lokal na pamahalaan at mga kinatawan mula sa iba't ibang sektor ng bayan. Sa kanyang mensahe, binigyang-diin ni Mayor Villasor na ang mga kandidata ay hindi lang dapat ipakita ang kanilang talento at ganda sa antas ng bayan, kundi pati na rin sa mas mataas na lebel tulad ng national at international. “Hinihikayat ko kayo na ipakita ang husay at ganda ng Arakan hindi lamang dito sa ating bayan kundi pati na rin sa buong bansa at sa buong mundo,” ani Mayor Villasor.

Bukod sa pagpapakilala ng kanilang mga sarili, nagkaroon din ng pagkakataon ang bawat kandidata na ibahagi ang kani-kanilang adbokasiya—mga layunin at adhikain na nais nilang isulong para sa ikabubuti ng komunidad. Mula sa pangangalaga sa kalikasan, edukasyon, kabataan, kalusugan, hanggang sa empowerment ng kababaihan, ipinakita ng mga kandidata ang kanilang malasakit at dedikasyon sa mga isyung mahalaga sa bayan ng Arakan.

Sa pagtanggap ng pamahalaan, ipinakita ng mga kandidata ang kanilang kahandaan na maging tunay na lider na magdadala ng pagbabago at pag-asa sa komunidad. Ang courtesy call ay hindi lamang isang pormalidad kundi isang simbolo ng pagkakaisa at pagtitiwala sa kakayahan ng mga kandidata na maging mga huwaran ng kagandahan na may puso at malasakit.

Pagkatapos ng courtesy call, nagpatuloy ang mga kandidata sa masigasig na practice session na nakatuon sa pagrampa at sa question & answer portion. Layunin ng pagsasanay na ito na lalo pang hasain ang kanilang kumpiyansa, karisma, at galing sa pakikipag-usap, na mahalaga sa nalalapit na pageant.

Inaasahan na sa mga darating na panahon, mas lalalim ang kanilang pag-unlad bilang mga kalahok at bilang mga kinatawan ng Arakan na may puso at diwa ng tunay na huwaran at lider.
