HANDOG NG PANGULO: SERBISYONG SAPAT PARA SA LAHAT

The Bureau of Plant Industry โ€“ Baguio National Crop Research, Development and Production Support Center (BPI-BNCRDPSC) actively participated in the HANDOG NG PANGULO: SERBISYONG SAPAT PARA SA LAHAT Program held on September 14, 2026.

As part of the program, BPI-BNCRDPSC provided various agricultural services and interventions to beneficiaries from different barangays of Baguio City, including:

Distribution of P20 Rice โ€“ Benteng Bigas Meron Na
Distribution of Vegetable Seeds for backyard planting, including lowland and highland vegetables
Distribution of Planting Materials such as herbs, spices, and citrus planting materials
Actual Demonstration and Training on Asexual Propagation of selected fruit and plantation crops, particularly citrus and cacao

Through these activities, BPI-BNCRDPSC continues to bring practical agricultural technologies, planting materials, and food assistance closer to communities, while encouraging backyard gardening, crop production, and sustainable agriculture.

The activity provided an opportunity for the beneficiaries to not only receive agricultural inputs but also gain practical knowledge that they can apply in their own homes and communities.

BPI-BNCRDPSC remains committed to delivering accessible agricultural services and technologies toward a more food-secure and productive community.

Bilang bahagi ng nationwide activity na pinangungunahan ng Department of Agriculture (DA), ang DA-BPI ay magbibigay ng mga serbisyo at aktibidad na nakatuon sa food security at urban agriculture. Inaanyayahan ang lahat na makilahok sa mga sumusunod na aktibidad:

โ€ข Techno-demo on Basic Urban Gardening and Mushroom Production
โ€ข Lecture on the Management of Common House Pests, particularly Termites and Rats

Layunin ng aktibidad na mailapit ang government services sa mga komunidad sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay ng praktikal na impormasyon, agricultural inputs, at mga learning opportunities na maaaring magamit ng mga pamilya sa kanilang tahanan at komunidad.

Kasabay ng pagdiriwang, tampok din ang KADIWA ng Pangulo at P20 rice sa BPI Malate, Manila. Abangan din ang mga inihandang aktibidad mula sa BPI Centers sa La Granja, Los Baรฑos, Guimaras, Davao, at Baguio.

Another Achievement for BPI-Baguio NCRDPSC!

Congratulations to Engr. Lea O. Abando for securing 3rd Place in the Scientific Poster Competition with her research entitled, โ€œEvaluation of Different Lettuce (Lactuca sativa) Varieties and Nutrient Solutions Under Indoor Cultivation System,โ€ during the 2026 National Research and Development Review (NRDR) held on August 25โ€“27, 2026, at the Aurora Subic Hotel, Olongapo City, Zambales.

This recognition highlights the Centerโ€™s continuing commitment to advancing agricultural research, innovation, and sustainable crop production technologies.

On August 14, 2026, the Bureau of Plant Industry โ€“ Baguio NCRDPSC, in partnership with BPIโ€“NSQCS CAR, BPIโ€“PPSSD Baguio, and the BPI Multipurpose Cooperative, donated relief goods to families affected by the landslide in Guisad Surong, Baguio City, brought about by the recent monsoon rains.

Through this joint effort, the BPI community extends its support and compassion to those affected, demonstrating that the spirit of bayanihan remains strong in times of adversity.

May this simple gesture bring comfort and hope to the families as they recover from the incident. ๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŒฑ
