The 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 warns the public about individuals impersonating Finance Secretary 𝙁𝙧𝙚𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙠 𝘿. 𝙂𝙤 and other DOF officials on messaging platforms and falsely claiming to represent the DOF to solicit money or engage in illegal activities.

❗ The Secretary and the 𝘿𝙊𝙁 𝘿𝙊 𝙉𝙊𝙏 𝘼𝙐𝙏𝙃𝙊𝙍𝙄𝙕𝙀 𝘼𝙉𝙔 𝙁𝙊𝙍𝙈 𝙊𝙁 𝙎𝙊𝙇𝙄𝘾𝙄𝙏𝘼𝙏𝙄𝙊𝙉 in their names.

We urge everyone to 𝙎𝙏𝘼𝙔 𝙑𝙄𝙂𝙄𝙇𝘼𝙉𝙏 𝘼𝙉𝘿 𝙍𝙀𝙋𝙊𝙍𝙏 any suspected scams or unauthorized solicitations to the proper authorities.

The Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF), through the Local Governance Reform Project (LGRP), successfully rolled out the 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 (𝐏𝐕𝐒) 𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐄𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 to Local Assessors and Assistant Assessors from across the MIMAROPA Region, marking another milestone in strengthening property valuation practices in local government units.

The training was honored by BLGF Executive Director Consolacion Q. Agcaoili who emphasized the importance of the updated standards in ensuring accurate, consistent, and internationally aligned property valuation. The Philippine Valuation Standards 3rd Edition harmonize with the International Valuation Standards, reinforcing the country’s commitment to globally recognized valuation practices.

Through insightful discussions led by valued speakers from the BLGF— Ms. Laurice Jane Navarro, Dir. Jessie Doctolero, Dir. Von Clinton Cordero, Atty. Wilbert Tañeca, and Atty. Neil Lamban - participants were equipped with the knowledge and tools necessary to apply these standards in their daily assessment work, thereby supporting fair property taxation, improved revenue generation, and more efficient resource allocation for local governments.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗹 𝗗𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲 (𝗢𝗖𝗗) 𝗠𝗜𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗢𝗣𝗔 conducted an orientation and lecture for the 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘂 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 (𝗕𝗟𝗚𝗙) 𝗠𝗜𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗢𝗣𝗔 in preparation for the upcoming 𝙀𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙝𝙦𝙪𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝘿𝙧𝙞𝙡𝙡.

The activity aimed to enhance the awareness and preparedness of personnel on proper safety protocols and response procedures during seismic events, further strengthening the office’s commitment to disaster readiness and resilience.

The lecture was facilitated by 𝑴𝒓. 𝑱𝒐𝒆 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒌 𝑨. 𝑪𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒅𝒐𝒓, 𝑪𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒍 𝑫𝒆𝒇𝒆𝒏𝒔𝒆 𝑶𝒇𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒆𝒓 𝑰𝑰, and 𝑴𝒓. 𝑱𝒐𝒓𝒈𝒆 𝑽. 𝑴𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒏𝒐𝒈, 𝑻𝒆𝒄𝒉𝒏𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒍 𝑺𝒖𝒑𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒇𝒇, who shared essential knowledge on earthquake preparedness, safety measures, and emergency response procedures.

Through this collaborative evaluation, the team engaged with local assessment personnel to examine current practices, identify areas for improvement, and ensure that procedures remain aligned with existing policies and standards.

This initiative underscores the continuing commitment of BLGF MIMAROPA to support LGUs in enhancing the efficiency, accountability, and compliance of local assessment operations. By promoting sound property assessment practices, the evaluation contributes to improved local revenue generation, which ultimately supports stronger fiscal management and better delivery of public services to the communities of Occidental Mindoro.
