Paracelis, Mountain Province โ The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) โ Mountain Province, through Shared Service Facility (SSF) Program and Negosyo Center Paracelis, successfully conducted a training on Practical Costing, Pricing, and Break-Even Analysis for the SSF Cooperators of Paracelis Abat Farmers Agriculture Cooperative (PAFACO). The activity was held in Aromoy, Bananao, Paracelis, Mountain Province, with fifteen (15) cooperators in attendance.
The training aimed to enhance the financial management capabilities of the SSF beneficiaries by equipping them with essential knowledge and practical tools in determining appropriate product pricing, managing costs, and analyzing break-even points. These competencies are vital in ensuring the sustainability, efficiency, and profitability of their operations.
Ms. Gai-Gai Clare Sudcaren, Business Counselor of Negosyo Center Paracelis, served as the resource speaker. She facilitated an engaging and insightful session, sharing relevant concepts, practical applications, and real-life examples that will aid participants in making informed and strategic business decisions.
Participants actively engaged in discussions and exercises, demonstrating their eagerness to apply the learnings in improving their enterprise operations. The training also provided a platform for exchanging ideas and experiences among cooperators, further strengthening their collaboration and commitment to business growth.
DTI-Mountain Province continues to implement capability-building interventions to support the development of SSF beneficiaries, ensuring that they remain competitive and resilient in the market.
Through initiatives like this, DTI reaffirms its commitment to empowering local enterprises towards increased productivity, profitability, and competitiveness, ultimately contributing to inclusive economic growth in the province.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) โ Mountain Province, in partnership with Catalyste+ Philippines, recently concluded a six-day Strategic Planning Workshop for the Inglayan di Ibila Rice Farmers Association, aimed at strengthening and sustaining their peanut butter enterprise.
The activity culminated in an exit meeting that highlighted key learnings and action plans developed during the workshop. Designed to provide a holistic and structured approach to enterprise development, the sessions covered essential business components including strategic assessment, organizational alignment, and operational planning.
Participants undertook a comprehensive analysis of their enterprise through a Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) framework, enabling them to identify critical areas for growth and improvement. The association also revisited and refined its Vision, Mission, and Objectives (VMO) to ensure alignment with its long-term goals.
With guidance from Catalyste+ Philippines Advisor William Lim, the association explored key business areas such as production and marketing planning, good governance and risk management, and financial planning for sustainability. The sessions emphasized practical strategies to enhance productivity, improve market positioning, and ensure the long-term viability of their peanut butter venture.
Members of the association actively participated in the discussions, demonstrating strong engagement and commitment to strengthening their enterprise. The collaborative environment fostered knowledge-sharing and encouraged innovative ideas to support business expansion.
DTIโMountain Province reaffirmed its commitment to empowering micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through capability-building initiatives and strategic partnerships. The successful completion of the workshop marks a significant step forward in enhancing the competitiveness of community-based enterprises in the province.
With renewed direction and strengthened capacity, the Inglayan di Ibila Rice Farmers Association is poised to bring more of their signature โNutty Delights the Inglayan Wayโ to the local market.

Baguio City, Philippines โ Coffee farmers from Mountain Province showcased excellence and quality as they emerged among the top winners in the recently concluded 2nd North Luzon Coffee Quality Competition (NLCQC), besting 63 entries from Regions CAR, I, and II.
Demonstrating the provinceโs commitment to producing premium Arabica coffee, Mountain Province coffee growers dominated the competition rankings. Two farmers secured the Top 2 positions, while others placed within the Top 10, underscoring the provinceโs growing reputation as a source of high-quality coffee.
The following Mountain Province representatives were among the Top 10 winners:
Top 2โ Shiela Patong and Joyce Busoy, representing the Sagada Arabica Coffee Growers and Producers Organization (SACGPO)
Top 9 โ Charlie Cadpa, representing Besao Multi-Purpose Cooperative (MPC) under the Mountain Province Arabica Coffee Enterprise (MPACE)
Top 10 โ Geofrey Kollin, representing SACGPO
The NLCQC aims to promote excellence in coffee production and recognize the best coffee producers in North Luzon. The outstanding performance of Mountain Province farmers highlights the effectiveness of sustained efforts in improving coffee quality through strong collaboration among stakeholders.
The competition was spearheaded by the Department of Agriculture โ Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP) in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Benguet State University (BSU), and the Barista and Coffee Academy of Asia (BCAA).
The awarding ceremony was held on May 21, 2026, at The Orchard Hotel, Baguio City, where industry stakeholders, partners, and coffee enthusiasts gathered to celebrate the achievements of the regionโs finest coffee producers.
DTI Mountain Province commends all the participating farmers and organizations for their dedication and passion in elevating the quality of Philippine coffee, further strengthening the competitiveness of the local coffee industry in both domestic and global markets.
