‎FIREARMS STORAGE TO BE INSPECT??

‎An administrative regulation or IRR amendment is incapable of overriding Art. III, Sec. 2 of the 1987 Philippine Constitution. The sanctity of the home is absolute—police cannot inspect private dwellings or conduct searches inside without a valid court-issued search warrant or voluntary consent. Safety regulations must respect the Bill of Rights.
‎
‎
‎The Supreme Court ruled that while the state can regulate fi****ms, the Philippine National Police cannot enter or inspect the homes of gun owners and license applicants for storage compliance without a court-issued search warrant.
‎
‎Inviolability of the Home:
‎
‎Even under regulatory terms, the constitutional protection against unreasonable searches and seizures remains supreme.
‎
‎Warrant Requirement:
‎
‎In cases like Acosta and Dela Paz v. Ochoa (G.R. No. 211559), the tribunal made it clear that police inspections of private dwellings for fi***rm safekeeping cannot happen by mere administrative fiat or without a proper judicial search warrant.

𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰? 🇵🇭

The celebration of National Reservist Week is rooted in Proclamation No. 1892 (1979), which declared September 1 of every year as "Araw ng Laang-Kawal Pilipino" (Reservist Day) to recognize the invaluable role of military reservists in nation-building.

Later, Proclamation No. 627 (1995) expanded the observance by declaring the period from September 3 to 10 as "Linggo ng Laang-Kawal Pilipino" (National Reservist Week) to promote greater public awareness and appreciation of the AFP Reserve Force and its vital contribution to national defense, disaster response, and community service.

This coming September, let us celebrate our AFP Reservists—ordinary citizens with an extraordinary commitment to serve the nation.

As we commemorate the 47th National Reservist Week, we honor the dedication, patriotism, and readiness of every reservist who stands prepared to answer the call of duty in times of peace, crisis, and national emergencies.

Salute to our Citizen-Soldiers!
