Convening of the Cagayan de Oro City Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) Coordinating Board
Yesterday, 09 June 2026, the Cagayan de Oro City Community-Based Monitoring System Coordinating Board (CCCB) convened to discuss key preparatory activities for the conduct of the 2027 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS). The meeting was attended by Acting City Planning and Development Coordinator Engr. Ardines C. Cabrera, EnP, and CBMS Focal Person Ms. Eleajen M. Lago-Lucagbo of the City Planning and Development Office (CPDO).
Among the matters discussed were the composition of the CCCB and its proposed Terms of Reference, which will guide the Board in overseeing and coordinating the implementation of the upcoming CBMS round.
The meeting also provided an overview of the CBMS, updates on capacity strengthening initiatives for local government units, and the presentation of the 2027 CBMS Resource Allocation Tool, which serves as the basis for determining the resources required for the nationwide undertaking.
A major highlight of the board meeting was the presentation of updates on the utilization of the 2024 CBMS data. It was reported that several offices within the City Government of Cagayan de Oro, including the City Housing and Urban Development Department (CHUDD), City Social Welfare and Development Department (CSWD), Oro Youth Development Office (OYDO), and City Economic Development and Promotion Office (CEDO), have already accessed and utilized CBMS-generated data and statistics to support their respective programs, projects, and policy initiatives. Likewise, external stakeholders and partner institutions, such as the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and the Mindanao Young Leaders Association, have been provided with relevant datasets and statistical outputs, further expanding the use of CBMS information in evidence-based planning, program implementation, and decision-making.
The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of the City Government, the Philippine Statistics Authority, and partner agencies to strengthen data-driven governance and ensure the successful implementation of the 2027 CBMS.
