Day of National Remembrance for the
Heroic Sacrifice of SAF 44

Freedom is a priceless treasure that we often disregard, but it is when we remember the sacrifices of those who have fought to preserve it - that we truly appreciate its significance.

Today, as we observe the Day of National Remembrance for the Heroic Sacrifice of the 44 fallen Special Action Force Commandos, let us take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices made by these courageous men and the families they left behind.

That unfortunate incident, which resulted in the tragic loss of our 44 special action force troopers, is a powerful reminder of the selflessness and devotion of our police officers to do their duty. Despite the odds and difficulties, they faced, these brave young men remained committed in carrying out the mission to protect and serve our communities.

The heroism of SAF 44 will be forever etched in the books of our country’s history. Like the generations of warrior heroes before them, our fallen SAF 44 gave everything they had, not for glory or recognition, but for something greater than themselves. The least we can do is to remember their ultimate sacrifices.

The theme of this year's observance is - "Legacy of Heroes: Inspiration of Future Generations," serves as a reminder of the importance of valor, honor, and duty.

Our fallen heroes are true representatives of the character of a nation that values patriotism and honor. The gallantry of SAF 44 will never be forgotten for they have left an indelible mark in the hearts and minds of the nation.

Their sacrifice was not made in vain, but rather to ensure the safety and security of our communities and to defend our rights and freedom.

We must also remember that their legacy of heroism is not just a memory, but an inspiration for future generations of police officers to continue to serve with valor and integrity. The legacy - that we must all strive to uphold. Their actions have shaped the pnp into what it is today and that their legacy is something that we must all take great pride in.

To the family and relatives of our heroes whom we honor today, there may be no message, tribute, nor ceremony that can ease or comfort your sorrow and pain. However, we join you through prayers and may this simple commemoration cherish their legacy and fill your hearts with the country’s gratefulness that not one of them died in vain.

Ang Medalya ng Kagitingan o Medal of Valor bilang pinakamataas na parangal na ating iginawad sa mga bayaning saf 44 ay simbolo rin ng aming taos pusong pagkilala at pasasalamat sa bawat pamilya at kaibigan na kanilang naulila. Isang karangalan na kayo ay aming makasama ngayong araw upang alalahanin ang kadakilaan nila.
