As we gear up for the Ibabao Festival 2026, we present the new Ibabao Festival logo which stands out among 96 proposed designs, reflecting the spirit of the celebration. At the center of the design is the number "61" referring to the 61st Founding Anniversary of the province, representing more than six decades of resilience, inclusive growth and enduring traditions that continue to shape the cultural and economic landscape of Northern Samar.
Featured in the design are iconic cultural and historical elements that embody the pride of Northern Samar, from its natural wonders, to agricultural roots, investment potential, maritime identity and timeless heritage. The Capul lighthouse signifies guidance and hope, while the sea turtle represents the province's rich marine biodiversity and commitment to environmental preservation.
The monument of Agustin Sumuroy reflects the bravery and resilience of the Nortehanon spirit, while the festival maiden in traditional attire symbolizes the colorful culture and traditions of the province. Adding more color to the design is the vibrant palette that complements the overall layout, symbolizing diversity, creativity, and optimism for the future of Northern Samar.
All these symbols and shades not only represent this year's Ibabao Festival, but also highlight the province's journey toward sustainable growth and inclusive development, while remaining deeply rooted in its heritage.

PRC JOINS IFRC, ICRC, AND 191 NATIONAL SOCIETIES IN CELEBRATING WORLD RED CROSS AND RED CRESCENT DAY 2026
The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) joins the global celebration of World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day on May 8, 2026, marking 79 years of nonstop commitment to helping communities worldwide alongside the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and 191 Red Cross and Red Crescent National Societies.
The international observance follows the theme โUnited in Humanity,โ meant to celebrate the volunteers and staff whose support and compassion toward communities shine amidst crises and emergencies around the world.
The day also serves as a call to uphold and protect humanitarian work, ensuring timely support is given to those most in need.
โThe Philippine Red Cross volunteers are the backbone of the entire organization. Without their help, it would be nearly impossible to expand our reach and services in the farthest regions of the country. This day is meant to celebrate not only them, but also the millions of Red Cross and Red Crescent volunteers worldwide who continue to serve humanity,โ said PRC Chairman and CEO Richard J. Gordon.
The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement grew from an idea by Jean Henry Dunant in 1859 after witnessing the suffering brought by the Battle of Solferino in Italy.
Today, the Movement is composed of the ICRC, the IFRC, and 191 National Societies working together as the worldโs largest humanitarian network.
โThe Philippine Red Cross will always look up to the ICRC, IFRC, and our fellow National Societies, and celebrate their humanitarian achievements across the world. Rest assured, the organization will continue strengthening its services in the country while remaining united with the global Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement in serving those most in need,โ PRC Secretary General Dr. Gwendolyn Pang stated.
The PRC commits its adherence to this yearโs theme and ensures its application in the various humanitarian services it offers nationwide.

Leadership Matters

This year, we are deeply honored by the presence of our University President, DR. CHERRY I. ULTRA. as our Guest of Honor and Speaker Her leadership embodies what UEP ROTC stands for Excellence in Academics, Discipline in Service, and Honor in Leadership.
๐ซก
