Strengthening rehabilitation and security.

Today, we joined as critics and resource persons in the discussion of two proposed ordinances:

• Incentives for businesses employing former Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) to support their reintegration.
• Procurement of Advanced Security Scanning Equipment (ASSE) to help prevent illegal drugs and contraband in BJMP facilities.

Through collaboration and open dialogue, we continue to support initiatives that promote second chances and safer communities.

Personnel of Davao City Jail–Annex conducted a Community Outreach Activity at St. Anthony’s Boys’ Village, where essential items and snacks were distributed to the youth as part of the unit’s continuing effort to extend assistance and strengthen community engagement. To encourage engagement, a few interactive games were also conducted.

Through initiatives like this, DCJ–Annex continues to uphold its commitment to service beyond custodial duties—fostering stronger community partnerships and promoting a culture of care, cooperation, and shared responsibility.

Davao City Jail-Annex conducted a Courtesy Visit to the DICT Regional Office to explore potential collaboration on ICT skills training and digital literacy programs for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) & Personnel.

💡𝑫𝒊𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘?
Digital skills are among the most in-demand competencies in today’s workforce. Access to ICT training enhances employability, strengthens reintegration readiness, and opens new learning opportunities—even during incarceration.

Through strengthened inter-agency partnerships, DCJ-Annex continues to create meaningful pathways that equip PDL with relevant skills and knowledge for successful reintegration into the community and DCJ-Annex Personnel for intensified service.

Personnel of Davao City Jail-Annex participated in the Joint Mangrove Planting Activity spearheaded by CENRO.

Davao City Jail-Annex conducted a health lecture for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) as part of its ongoing Health and Wellness Program to strengthen infection prevention within the facility.

This initiative reinforces DCJ-Annex’s commitment to health awareness and a safer communal environment.

Scabies spreads through close contact and shared bedding, while boils are caused by bacterial infection that can worsen without proper hygiene. Early reporting and regular handwashing help prevent outbreaks.
