Mabini National High School (Davao City) reaffirmed the spirit of bayanihan and shared responsibility during its first Stakeholdersโ Forum, which gathered representatives from the local government, parents, alumni, industry partners, and various community organizations in a collective effort to strengthen support for the schoolโs educational programs, particularly the Work Immersion Program for Grade 12 learners.
Held at the schoolโs TVL-Home Economics Laboratory, organized by the Public-Private-Partnership Focal Person Dante Jr. A. Baliad, the forum served as a vibrant platform for dialogue, collaboration, and renewed commitment to the schoolโs mission of delivering quality and inclusive education. The event reflected how Mabini NHS continues to thrive through the shared commitment of its stakeholders, showing that genuine partnership and community spirit remain at the heart of meaningful education.
โThe school belongs to the community,โ emphasized School Principal Milrose Yvette Gultiano in her message of appreciation. โAs educators, we are simply stewards entrusted with nurturing the learnersโ growth and potential. It is through our collective effort that we can shape a future grounded on shared purpose and collaboration.โ
The program featured comprehensive presentations on the schoolโs recent accomplishments, ongoing initiatives, and future directions. Particular focus was given to enhancing the Work Immersion Program, a vital component of the Senior High School curriculum that provides students with hands-on experience in real-world settings to prepare them for higher education, employment, or entrepreneurship.
โWe are honored to be part of Mabini NHSโs mission to prepare students for the future,โ shared Dโ Japanese Tunnel Operations Manager Gary C. Cerbas. โThrough the Work Immersion Program, we not only open our doors to learners but also help build a skilled and competent workforce for the community.โ
The academe sector also conveyed their support for the schoolโs advocacies. DMMA College of Southern Philippines President Gloria S. Uriarte lauded the forum for fostering open dialogue and cooperation, noting that โwhen schools and communities work hand in hand, the benefits reach every household.โ
The forum concluded with an open commitment-sharing session, during which participants identified key ways forward, including renewal and expansion of partnership agreements, establishment of a participatory monitoring and evaluation system for immersion placements, capacity-building activities for teachers, immersion supervisors, and partner institutions, and creation of a schoolโcommunity committee to sustain partnerships beyond the programโs implementation. All commitments were sealed through the signing of Memorandum of Agreement.
In his synthesis, Asst. School Principal Claide Kinneth Saludar highlighted the heart of the dayโs conversation. โEducation flourishes when the school and community act as one. When we work hand in hand, we do not only educate our learners, we shape a better community for all.โ
With the resounding success of this yearโs Stakeholdersโ Forum, Mabini National High School continues to embody the essence of community-driven education, where every learnerโs success stands not merely as an individual achievement but as a shared victory for an empowered and united community.

Prepared, Alert, and United: Mabini National High School Leads Quarter 4 Simultaneous National Earthquake Drill
The morning air at Mabini National High School was calm until the alarm rang across the campus at exactly 9:00 a.m. In an instant, the familiar hum of classroom chatter gave way to swift, practiced motion. Chairs scraped, teachers guided, and hundreds of students moved with quiet determination, every step resonating with unity and intent: to stay safe, to be ready.
This was not just another drill. It was part of the Simultaneous National Earthquake Drill, a nationwide call to preparedness that Mabini National High School answered with heart and unity.
In light of the recent earthquakes felt in various parts of the region, the drill carried a deeper meaning. Learners who once experienced the strong tremors understood the importance of every movement and instruction, applying lessons they had learned about preparedness and composure during real tremors.
Adding strength and realism to the exercise was the presence of the Barangay Talomo Disaster Action and Response Team, tasked to assess the schoolโs readiness as manifested in the performance of the drill. With calm authority and reassuring smiles, the team worked hand in hand with teachers and student marshals, checking exits and timing evacuations. Their teamwork showed that disaster readiness is more than a protocol; it is a partnership built on trust and compassion.
After confirming the headcount of learners and with the โall clearโ signal from authorities, the community gathered for a post-conference, a moment not of critique but of learning. Observations were shared, small victories celebrated, and areas for improvement noted. Everyone could see the difference: movements were quicker, responses more confident, coordination smoother. The school had come a long way from the previous drills, earning an impressive overall score of 49 out of 50, a significant increase from the previous rating of 37, from the Disaster Action and Response Team.
At the heart of the post-conference, School Principal Maโam Milrose Yvette Gultiano expressed her gratitude and pride in the schoolโs growing culture of preparedness. With a smile of quiet satisfaction, she said, โThank you for the technical assistance provided to the school, especially in helping us improve our readiness through time. Our current rating shows that we are serious about preparedness.โ Her words reflected not only appreciation for the guidance of the Barangay Talomo Disaster Action and Response Team but also the schoolโs steadfast commitment to continuous improvement.
Behind the numbers, though, were faces: students who took the drill seriously, teachers who led with care, and responders who treated the simulation as if it were real.
Each drill strengthens not just preparedness but community spirit. In Mabini National High School, safety has become more than a procedure; it has become a promise, upheld by every Mabinian who believes that readiness today means protection tomorrow.
