The Coast Guard District Southeastern Mindanao (CGDSEM), through Coast Guard Sub-Station Mavรฉas (CGSS Mavรฉas), provided assistance in the successful repatriation of the passenger of distressed MBCA Quessel-J who was rescued after drifting at sea and being found in the waters of Kamboling and Kawio Islands, Indonesia.
Working in close coordination with the Local Government Unit of Sarangani, the Inter-Agency Search and Rescue (SAR) Team, and Indonesian authorities, CGSS Mavรฉas facilitated maritime coordination and border-crossing procedures to ensure the survivorโ€™s safe return to Philippine territory.
The repatriation effort was supported by various national and local government agencies, including the Philippine Navy, Philippine Air Force, Office of Civil Defense, Department of the Interior and Local Government, and the Bureau of Immigration. The officers and crew of BRP Artemio Ricarte (PS-37) also provided maritime security and es**rt during the operation.
CGDSEM remains committed to its mandate of safeguarding lives at sea, strengthening inter-agency cooperation, and providing humanitarian assistance to distressed Filipinos. Meanwhile, search and rescue operations continue for the four remaining missing individuals.

"The trough of TS JANGMI is expected to continuously affect
the eastern section of Mindanao over the next 24 hours, bringing cloudy skies

As of 8:00 PM today, 22 May 2026, the Low Pressure Area (LPA 05d) is being monitored inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and is "UNLIKELY" to develop into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.

All are advised to monitor updates from DOST-PAGASA.
