YOUTH RAGE AGAINST CORRUPTION UNITY STATEMENT
A National Youth Network to Expose, Resist, and Dismantle Corruption at All Levels
The corruption we are fighting is not new. It is deeply embedded in the very structures of government—enabled by political dynasties, contractor mafias, budget insertions, and a culture of impunity. The plunder of public funds is not just a betrayal of trust—it is a theft of our future. For too long, corruption has stolen lives, dreams, and the dignity of an entire nation. To confront it, we must act together with courage and resolve.
We, the Youth Rage Against Corruption, unite as a national youth network committed to exposing, resisting, and dismantling corruption in all its forms. Across campuses, communities, and organizations, young people have stood up against injustice and greed. But scattered efforts are not enough.
The scale of the problem demands a sustained and collective response—one that is organized and national in scope. We call on the Filipino youth to expose corruption in government; resist repression and intimidation by school administrations and state forces that seek to silence dissent; spread awareness about the system of plunder and impunity that drains our nation’s wealth; and mobilize collectively from the local to the national level.
We have the following demands:
1. Remove from office, hold accountable, and imprison all those involved in anomalous flood control projects and acts of corruption—from the Duterte to Marcos administrations.
2. Return the stolen public funds! Seize and recover the assets of corrupt officials and contractors. Use these funds for health, education, housing, and flood victims’ compensation.
3. Abolish all congressional pork barrel funds, as well as confidential and intelligence funds of the Executive.
4. Make public the Statements of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN) of all government officials. Require bank secrecy waivers to allow full transparency of assets and properties.
5. Ban corrupt contractors and suppliers, especially those linked to lawmakers and government officials. Upload all bidding documents and government contracts online for public scrutiny.
6. Abolish the “small group” in Congress that inserts hidden pork and projects in the national budget. Open all budget hearings and bicameral meetings to the public.
7. End the reign of political dynasties and push for democratic reforms that dismantle entrenched elite rule and patronage politics.
We will not allow any political force—be they pro-Marcos or pro-Duterte—to hijack our movement for their own narrow agenda. Our struggle is not for the benefit of any politician, but for the people.
We believe in the critical thinking, independence, and integrity of the youth, that they can see through all forms of political manipulation and co-optation. We stand for truth, justice, and accountability—no matter how high up this goes.
We have committed to mobilize on November 17, International Students’ Day, declaring it as a Nationwide Day of Walkout. Under the theme: “Kabataan, tuloy-tuloy na kumilos! Labanan ang korapsyon, pasismo, at kapabayaan sa edukasyon! Ipagtanggol ang ating kinabukasan! Bulok na sistema, baguhin! Marcos-Duterte, alisin!” we will take to the streets, campuses, and communities to show that the youth will not be silenced nor deceived.
We recognize, however, that the youth cannot win this fight alone. We pledge to stand and mobilize alongside the working people and the oppressed sectors on November 30, continuing our struggle to hold Marcos and Duterte to account and to build genuine change from the ground up.
This is a decisive moment for our generation. Corruption is not only about stolen money—it is about stolen futures and a stolen democracy. Our response must match the magnitude of the crisis we face. We refuse to accept a system that normalizes theft, deceit, and impunity. We will not be silenced, we will not be divided, and we will not stop until justice is won.
Youth Rage Against Corruption is our collective response—not as scattered voices, but as one national youth movement rising against corruption, demanding accountability, and fighting for a future built on truth, justice, and integrity. Together, we rage not out of hate, but out of hope—for a nation free from corruption, and a future that belongs to the people.
