The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) conducted a meeting last 01 September 2026 at the Office of the Mayor to discuss the proposed programs, projects, and activities (PPAs) for 2027, as well as other relevant matters concerning disaster risk reduction and management in the municipality.

The meeting served as an avenue to strengthen coordination among concerned offices and stakeholders, identify priority initiatives, and ensure that Dumangas remains prepared, responsive, and resilient in the face of emergencies and disasters.

Through continued planning, collaboration, and proactive disaster preparedness, the LGU Dumangas remains committed to protecting the lives, safety, and welfare of every Dumangasanon.

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) of Dumangas, spearheaded by Mayor Braeden John Q. Biron and facilitated by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), under the direction of Arande D. Detablan, LDRRMO III, successfully concluded a three-day foundational Incident Command System (ICS) training program. The training saw the participation of Steve Michael Carnaje Docdocil, LDRRMO II, a permanent staff member of the MDRRMO, alongside other constituents of the MDRRMC, delegates from academic institutions, and various organizational bodies. The instructional sessions transpired from August 25-27, 2026, at the ISUFST Dumangas campus. This initiative was executed by OCD6.

A two-day training session was orchestrated by the MDRRMO Dumangas, involving their team and led by Mr. Steve Michael Docdocil, a Nurse Paramedic and DOH-certified Trainer, for the DPWH's 2nd district office.
This instructional program is geared towards bolstering the medical teams' proficiencies and revitalizing their aptitudes for managing disasters and emergencies. Their performance in this training will be assessed during their subsequent quarterly drill.

A collision incident occurred in Barangay PD Monfort South, Dumangas, Iloilo. Three individuals sustained minor injuries. Two ambulances were dispatched by the team, and first aid was administered, following which the injured parties were transported to the nearest hospitals.

As of 8:00 PM today, 23 August 2026, the Tropical Depression with international name "GAENARI" (formerly "NENENG") is being monitored OUTSIDE the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

Meanwhile, the Tropical Depression (formerly LPA 08h) is being monitored OUTSIDE the PAR.

The Typhoon with international name "SAUDEL" is also being monitored OUTSIDE the PAR.
