Central Philippines Tourism Expo (CPTEx) brings together the Department of Tourism Regional Offices from all over the country. It puts on center stage CENTRAL PHILIPPINES, with the CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol, Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Central Visayas, and Eastern Visayas Regional Offices spotlighting our unique destinations, culture, cuisine, and creatives.

With the theme “𝑪𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑫𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑺𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝑪𝒖𝒍𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆,” this year’s expo highlights the many things that make each region special — while also celebrating the traditions and values we all share.

📢TRAVEL ADVISORY

We wish to inform the traveling public and all visitors to Eastern Visayas that San Juanico Bridge — the vital link between Leyte and Samar — is currently operating under vehicle weight restrictions as part of ongoing safety measures.

Effective 15 May 2025 (Thursday), only vehicles weighing 3 tons and below are allowed to pass through San Juanico Bridge until further notice.

This temporary restriction is in place to ensure public safety and structural integrity while assessments or maintenance works are being carried out.

𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝑴𝒆𝒂𝒏𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑻𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑷𝒖𝒃𝒍𝒊𝒄:

🚗 𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐯𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐬, such as private cars, vans, SUVs, and motorcycles, 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐯𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐚 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐝.

🚫 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐲 𝐯𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐬 (e.g. trucks, coasters, some tour buses 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝟑 𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐬) are 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐒𝐚𝐧 𝐉𝐮𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐨 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐠𝐞. Affected travelers are advised to use alternative routes via barge/ferry, or offload passengers and transfer them to lighter vehicles and arrange a pick-up vehicle on the opposite side, if needed.

For those planning on doing group tours, please consider temporary rerouting or adjusting your itineraries to help minimize inconvenience due to current travel restrictions on San Juanico Bridge.
