𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤: 𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐃𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠

The 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 - 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐅𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 held a Self-Defense Training at the Social Hall, New Executive Building, on 12 December 2025 as part of the 𝟏𝟖-𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐄𝐧𝐝 𝐕𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 (𝐕𝐀𝐖).

Atty. Christian Oliver Hife from the Philippine National Police Legal Service discussed an overview of the Anti-Violence against Women and their Children Act of 2004, types of abuse and violence experienced by an individual, and the impact on women’s psychological well-being. PMSg Reymundo Marmito of the Philippine National Police and Coach Jonathan Sandoval facilitated the Self-Defense training. The session introduced the basics of self-defense and Jiu-jitsu, culminating in a practical demonstration.

To conclude the series of activities, PCO Undersecretary Atty. Ruth Abigail C. Sestoso delivered her closing remarks, reinforcing the call to end all forms of violence against women, girls, and children.

In line with the 𝟭𝟴-𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗘𝗻𝗱 𝗩𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 (𝗩𝗔𝗪), the 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 conducted a two-part activity on 10 December 2025, at the Social Hall, New Executive Building, JP Laurel St., San Miguel, Manila.

Dir. Kristine Joy N. Llano welcomed the PCO personnel by emphasizing the importance of promoting safe and inclusive workspaces.

Atty. Allen led the morning and afternoon sessions, discussing key legal frameworks related to sexual harassment, including the Safe Spaces Act (RA 11313) and the Anti-Sexual Harassment Law (RA 7877). Further, she highlighted the Committee on Decorum and Investigation (CODI)'s crucial role in handling sexual harassment cases fairly, confidentially, and promptly. The sessions emphasized institutional mechanisms for ensuring accountability and protecting human dignity.

Through these initiatives, the PCO reaffirms its commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and gender-responsive environment toward a more inclusive Bagong Pilipinas.

Ngayong Mayo 1, 2026, ipinagdiriwang ang ika-124 na taon ng Araw ng Paggawa sa Pilipinas, na may temang “Disenteng Trabaho Para sa Lahat: Iisang Hangarin, Bagong Pilipinas Sama-samang Mararating.” Dahil dito, kinikilala natin ang galing, lakas, at sipag ng mga manggagawang Pilipino bilang sandigan ng ating mga pamilya at ekonomiya.

Patuloy tayong makikiisa sa pagsusulong ng pantay na karapatan at oportunidad para sa lahat ng mga manggagawa, anuman ang kanilang kasarian at estado sa buhay, tungo sa isang inklusibo at maunlad na Bagong Pilipinas.

𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤: 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫-𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚

The 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 held a Gender-Fair Communications Workshop for Media at The Bayleaf, Intramuros, Manila, on 09 December 2025.

Attended by communications officers from the Integrated State Media, the workshop emphasized the agency’s commitment to promote equal representation of all genders in public communication.

PCO Assistant Secretary Ronadale M. Zapata, in her opening remarks, highlighted the essential role of communication in shaping perspectives and advancing gender equality.

During the discussion led by Atty. Allen Espino, participants gained essential knowledge of gender and development (GAD) concepts, and explored how the media shapes gender perceptions. The session addressed challenges such as stereotyping and biased language, offering practical strategies to foster accurate and gender-balanced representation and eliminate sexism in public messaging.

In his closing message, PCO Assistant Secretary Allan Francisco reaffirmed the shared responsibility of government communicators in advancing gender-fair and inclusive communication. He also reiterated the PCO’s continued commitment to communication that reflects the dignity, diversity, and lived realities of every Filipino in pursuit of a genuinely inclusive Bagong Pilipinas.

Sa pagdiriwang ng 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐨 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲 na may temang “𝙃𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙞 𝙆𝙖 𝙉𝙖𝙜-𝙞𝙞𝙨𝙖 𝙨𝙖 𝙄𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙖𝙜-𝙞𝙞𝙨𝙖: 𝙔𝙖𝙠𝙖𝙥 𝙖𝙩 𝙆𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙖 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙖 𝙨𝙖 𝙎𝙤𝙡𝙤 𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙩”, ang 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 ay nagbibigay-pugay sa lahat ng solo parents ng ahensya at maging sa buong bansa. Kinikilala namin ang inyong katatagan, dedikasyon, at pagmamahal sa pagtataguyod ng inyong mga anak tungo sa mas magandang kinabukasan.

𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤: 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 𝐆𝐅𝐏𝐒 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲-𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲

The 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞, through its Gender and Development Focal Point System, successfully conducted a three-day Capacity-Building Activity for GFPS members and PCO personnel in Bagac, Bataan, last October 6–8, 2025.

The activity aimed to strengthen institutional capacity in mainstreaming gender perspectives across policies, programs, and communication strategies. Participants deepened their understanding of GAD concepts, gender analysis tools, and the preparation of the GAD Plan and Budget. Workshops and interactive sessions reinforced practical application, enabling participants to better integrate gender-responsive approaches in their respective functions.

Sa paggunita ng Araw ng Kagitingan, kinikilala natin hindi lamang ang katapangan at katatagan ng mga sundalo sa Bataan Death March, kundi pati ang mahahalagang ambag ng kababaihan bilang mga haligi ng pag-asa noong panahon ng Ikalawang Digmaang Pandaigdig.

Ang kanilang makapangyarihang ambag—sa pamamagitan ng malasakit, sakripisyo, at katatagan para sa kapwa at bayan— ay patuloy na nagsisilbing inspirasyon sa mga kababaihan.
