We have finally marked the first year of Atty. Shidik T. Abantas, MDM, LLM as the 7th Chancellor of General Santos, a year defined by progress, purpose, and unwavering commitment to elevating the university.

In accordance with Resolution No. 16, the Commission on Elections of the Supreme Student Council – MSU-GSC successfully conducted the canvassing and manual counting through Google Forms and Microsoft Excel of votes for the SSC Special Elections. Your participation has once again demonstrated the MSUan community’s commitment to exercising its right to choose our next student leaders.

𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗟 𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗟 𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡

The SSC COMELEC would like to announce that the election schedule has been adjusted due to a delay in deliberating of the certificates of candidacy as the candidates submitted on the last day for filing of candidacy. To ensure fairness and equal opportunity for all aspiring candidates, the committee has decided to move the election dates to allow sufficient time for the campaign period as it is limited to one day only.

This adjustment aims to maintain the integrity of our democratic process and to provide every qualified student the chance to participate meaningfully in this year’s special election.

We sincerely ask for everyone’s understanding and cooperation as we continue to uphold the values of transparency, fairness, and inclusivity in our electoral process.

𝗞𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗪, 𝗔𝗦𝗣𝗜𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗦𝗘𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗦

In accordance with the SSC-COMELEC 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗻𝗼. 14, the filing of the 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗰𝘆 (COC) for Senator for Projects and Physical Development of the Academic Year 2025-2026 will be opening today, November 10, 2024, Monday and will end on November 12, 2024, Wednesday.

The commission has decided the e-filing to allow the candidates the utmost convenience, but they are still required to submit a hard copy of their COC to 𝗛𝗼𝗻. 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝘀 𝗗𝘄𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗷𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗮, as the assigned commissioner, at the 𝐒𝐒𝐂 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞, 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM.

The form will close at exactly 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2024. In order to ascertain which candidates are eligible to compete in the student council special election, this form aims to compile all necessary documentation and candidate requirements.

𝗠𝗔𝗬 𝗣𝗔𝗦𝗢𝗕𝗥𝗔, 𝗗𝗔𝗛𝗜𝗟 𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗟 𝗞𝗔

As the former COMELEC Secretary, 𝗛𝗼𝗻. 𝗥𝗮𝘆𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗘𝗱𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗻 has graduated from MSU-GSC, we issued a resolution for the re-appointment for the position of Secretary of the SSC-COMELEC. In accordance with 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗻𝗼. 𝟭𝟭 of the SSC-COMELEC, the commission has reappointed 𝗛𝗼𝗻. 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝘆𝗻𝗮 𝗔𝗴𝗼𝘁 as the COMELEC Secretary from the College of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the position of 𝙎𝙚𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙤𝙧 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 still has a vacant seat within the Council. In accordance with 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗻𝗼. 12 of the SSC-COMELEC, this position will be filled through a 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.
