LOOK | The General Santos City Fire Station (GSCFS), headed by FSUPT MARLEAP P NABOR, conducted a fire safety inspection at the Bulaong Bus Terminal to ensure the availability and functionality of fire extinguishers and other fire protection equipment within the area.
Firefighters also carried out a short Fire Safety Information Dissemination to the drivers, conductors, and terminal personnel, highlighting the importance of fire prevention, proper extinguisher use, and immediate response in case of emergencies.
This activity forms part of the GSCFS’s preparation for the upcoming Batang Pinoy 2025 to be held in General Santos City, as well as for Undas 2025, during which an influx of passengers is expected. The Bureau of Fire Protection remains committed to ensuring a fire-safe and prepared community for all.

LOOK: In a powerful show of support, personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) General Santos Fire Station, led by City Fire Marshal FSUPT MARLEAP P NABOR, joined the Breast Cancer Awareness Month celebration at Gensan Doctors Hospital. Dressed in pink and full of spirit, the team stood in solidarity with survivors and advocates, raising awareness about early detection and prevention. Their presence lit up the event, symbolizing courage and community. FSUPT NABOR emphasized the importance of health advocacy alongside public safety. The hospital lauded BFP-Gensan’s commitment to holistic service. It was a day of unity, hope, and blazing support for the fight against breast cancer.

LOOK: Forensic Training Boosts Fire Safety Precision
Eighteen participants from Regional Forensic Unit 12 and GenSan Forensic Unit gathered at Camp Cpt. Fermin G. Lira Jr. for Fire Safety seminar and Fire Drill-led training. Under FSUPT Marleap P. Nabor of GenSan Fire Station, with SFO2 Acub and FO3 Sebios, the session advanced forensic readiness and inter-agency coordination.

The meeting aimed to strengthen partnership and readiness among community volunteers in ensuring fire safety and emergency preparedness throughout the duration of the event.

BFP Joins the Celebration of the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction
The BFP joins the global observance of the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction, reaffirming its commitment to building a safer and more resilient Philippines.
Speaking on behalf of Director JESUS P FERNANDEZ, Chief, BFP, the Deputy Chief for Operations, FCSUPT WILBERTP RICO NEIL A KWN TIU expressed gratitude to partners from the private sector, especially ARISE Philippines, for their continued collaboration and support in advancing disaster preparedness nationwide.
The official highlighted the vital role of the BFP in all forms of crisis and disaster management—from fire suppression and rescue operations to humanitarian assistance and disaster relief. As a 24/7 emergency response agency, the Bureau remains steadfast in its mission to protect lives and property.
With the implementation of Republic Act 11589 or the BFP Modernization Act, the agency continues to evolve from its traditional fire prevention and suppression functions into a multi-capable emergency service—providing Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT), and Search and Rescue (SAR) operations across the country.
In his message, the Deputy Chief underscored that disaster management begins with every Filipino—embracing a culture of safety, security, discipline, and self-help, as true resilience starts within each individual.
