During yesterday’s 55th Regular Session of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, I raised questions during the Question and Answer Hour with SOCOTECO II regarding two important concerns of our Member-Consumer-Owners (MCOs).

I asked whether SOCOTECO II has an official website or accessible online platform to help ensure the timely and effective dissemination of information to its member-consumers.

I also asked what strategies are being considered to help ease the burden on MCOs amid rising electricity rates.

Access to clear and timely information is important, but so is finding ways to make electricity more affordable for our consumers. These concerns deserve continued attention and concrete responses.

As we discuss matters affecting SOCOTECO II, let us keep the welfare of our MCOs at the center of the conversation.

Grateful for the opportunity to be part of the Church Thanksgiving and Anniversary of Mabuhay Philcam Church Inc. with the theme, “Grateful Heart, Enduring Love.”

It is always a blessing to gather with fellow believers in thanksgiving to God for His faithfulness, enduring love, and countless blessings. May this celebration strengthen our faith, deepen our gratitude, and remind us to continue serving the Lord and loving one another with sincere hearts.

My heartfelt thanks to Ptr. Manuel Lopez and the entire Mabuhay Philcam Church family for this meaningful occasion.

May the Lord continue to bless this church, its leaders, and every family in the congregation. All glory and thanksgiving belong to God!

I was grateful to be part of the Unity Animal Welfare Fun Run 2026 held today, October 3, at Robinsons Gen San, in celebration of Animal Welfare Week.

Together with fellow advocates and supporters, including Hon. Cesar Bañas and Hon. Ralph Ronald J. Yumang, we came together to promote compassion, responsible pet ownership, and greater awareness for the protection and welfare of our animals.

May this activity remind us that caring for animals is also an expression of kindness and compassion. When we work together, we can build a community where every animal is treated with care, dignity, and love.

I had the privilege of being present and delivering the funeral service for Rene O. Berzuela, who passed away on September 21, 2026, at the age of 61.

It was a solemn time of remembering his life and offering comfort and prayers to his family and loved ones. May the Lord continue to strengthen the Berzuela family and surround them with His peace and comfort as they go through this time of loss.

My deepest condolences and prayers to the bereaved family. May Rene rest in eternal peace.

A meaningful time of fellowship, conversation, and learning with fellow servants of God as I met with Ptr. Richard Lanzanas, a pastor from General Santos City; Ptr. Kevin Gever, DC Lead – Visayas & Mindanao of Alpha Philippines; and Ptr. Ramon Santos, National Director of Alpha Philippines.

We had the opportunity to learn more about Alpha, an 11-week interactive course designed to create a safe, welcoming, and non-judgmental space where people can explore life, faith, and the Christian message through hospitality, teaching, and open conversation.

Evangelism is an important part of the Christian calling. We are called to share the Gospel—the good news of Jesus Christ—with love, humility, truth, and grace. Programs such as Alpha can provide opportunities for people to ask questions, engage in meaningful conversations about faith, and hear the Gospel in a welcoming environment.

The purpose is not simply to have discussions, but to create opportunities for people to encounter the message of Jesus, consider His claims, and discover the hope found in Him. As believers, we are reminded to “go into all the world and preach the gospel” (Mark 16:15) and to be ready to give an answer concerning the hope that is within us (1 Peter 3:15).

We also shared thoughts on how faith-based initiatives like Alpha can encourage meaningful conversations about Jesus and help strengthen communities through fellowship, service, and genuine relationships.

I am grateful for this opportunity to connect, listen, and learn from fellow ministry leaders. May God continue to guide every effort that faithfully proclaims the Gospel and points people to Jesus Christ.

Congratulations on the 6th Founding Anniversary of the New Breed GBI Guardians Global Brotherhood!

It was a privilege and a blessing to be part of this meaningful celebration as Guest Speaker, with the theme “A Legacy of Service & Unity Worldwide” and the guiding principle “Servimus, Pro Deo et Patria” — We serve for God and Country.

My sincere gratitude to CGMF Jr. Dos Nonilo D. Anadia Jr., CNF Ram R. Rimando, CNF Jedi Edison Cariaga, CNF Roger Villarubia, CNF Scorpion Jumalyn Vilan, and all the brothers and sisters of the organization for the warm invitation and fellowship.

As we celebrate six years of brotherhood, may we always remember that genuine service is rooted in faith, humility, compassion, and unity. When we serve others with a sincere heart and without seeking recognition, our service becomes a reflection of God’s love.

May the New Breed GBI Guardians Global Brotherhood continue to strengthen its commitment to God, community, and country, and may its legacy of service inspire many more generations.

A blessed and meaningful celebration at the 8th Founding Anniversary of Purok Rovalgon, Barangay Calumpang, marked by an Inter-Faith Fellowship that brought together people of faith and members of the community in unity and friendship.

My warm congratulations to Purok Chairman Grace Galanza and the Purok Kagawads—Edgardo Castro, Rudy Manjaal, Ramon Aballe, Edna Barbosa, Dinalyn Checote, Asda Esmael, and Janmar Bayking—for their continued dedication to the community.

It was also a blessing to share this occasion with our church leaders, Ptr. Josapath Layang, Ptra. Janet Layang, Ptr. Esperidion Juayno, and Ptra. Nelda Juayno, whose presence further enriched this gathering.

May Purok Rovalgon continue to grow as a community where unity, respect, faith, and cooperation are strengthened through meaningful fellowship and service.

I extend my deepest sympathy and prayers to the family of Mrs. Conchita Alaza Permato, who passed away on September 11, 2026, at the age of 92. She was a beloved mother of Ma’am Soralita P. Superable of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).

May the Lord embrace the bereaved family with His comfort and strength during this time of loss. May the memories of a life well-lived remain a source of comfort, and may God’s grace carry the family through the days ahead.

My heartfelt condolences to the Permato and Superable families. May her soul rest in peace.

Earlier today, I had the opportunity to preside over the 52nd Regular Session of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, in view of the important matters that our Honorable Vice Mayor and Presiding Officer had to attend to.

I also had the privilege of introducing, on behalf of Hon. Cesar Bañas, his invited guest, Engineer Felipe T. Galia, a Member-Consumer-Owner (MCO) of SOCOTECO II, who was invited to share information concerning the cooperative’s financial, managerial, and technical aspects.

However, considering certain legal implications that need to be properly addressed, the matter was laid on the table and will be taken up at a more appropriate time, when the necessary considerations can be observed.

As members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, our responsibility is to provide a proper venue for matters of public interest, while also ensuring that due process, applicable laws, and the rights of all concerned are respected.

My intention is simply to provide equal treatment and a fair opportunity for everyone to be heard, especially on matters that may be of legitimate public concern. This is not about campaigning for or against anyone or any particular position. It is about transparency, fairness, and making relevant information available to the public through the proper legislative process.

We will continue to approach these matters with openness, respect, and responsibility, keeping in mind our duty to the people of General Santos City.
