Kape kag family time with Francis and Thea at the Iloilo Specialty Coffee Fair. After a busy week, naka kape-kape man kita sang makadali. Bumped into some good friends kag naka-uluistorya man kita gamay.

Good coffee, good conversations, and a community that continues to grow.

Today is the last day at SM City Iloilo, with lots of coffee shops to discover and support. Kape ta!

COMMUNITY KITCHEN SA PLAZA

Sadtung pandemic, mapiot para sa aton ang maggihu sa komunidad bangud sang lock down. That was the time I thought of launching a Community Kitchen agud makapiyan-piyan sa mga pumuluyo, hasta nga nangin SOP na ini naton sa disaster response sa tion sang kalamidad.

Now, mangin regular na ini bangud ang aton City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) magahiwat na sang Community Kitchen kada Biyernes sa isa ka Plaza sa siyudad.

Ini sa tuyo nga makadala kita sang accessible, nutritious, and community-based food assistance closer to the Ilonggos to strengthen social welfare services and promote programs that are people-centered, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of communities.

LIKE MATCHA & COFFEE

SK Fed Vice Pres.,Julienne Jeanjaquet and I roasted some plans about the future of the Ilonggo youth.

Surprisingly, match gid ang amon mga handum kag plano para sa kabataang Ilonggo - to provide comprehensive support encompassing quality education and skill development, employment and economic opportunities, health and well-being services and civic engagement and leadership.

We'll soon start whisking the platforms sa diin ang aton pamatan-on mas mangin mainalamon sa pag desisyon kag pag-aksyon para sa ila kaugalingon padulong sa mas masanag nga buwas-damlag.

Grateful gid ko katama sa mga barangay officials naton kag volunteers nga consistent sa pagserbisyo sa Siyudad!

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) Boys’ & Girls’ Week 2026 💙

Very happy to be with our young leaders today. For 45 years, the Rotary Club of Iloilo City, in partnership with the local government, has continued this meaningful tradition with the Iloilo City Government and DepEd.

Last year, we started bringing them beyond the offices—to city programs and activities, with field trips and debriefing—so they could see the bigger picture of public service.

Indi kinahanglan nga may titulo para mangin leader.

One time si Thea nagsiling sa iya mga pakaisa while they were playing, “I’m the leader.” Pero ginhambalan siya indi pwede kay number 5 siya sa anum kag ang number 1 dapat ang leader.

I told them: anyone can be a leader.

So after that, she led her cousins, and said, “Tomorrow, you can be the leader.”

Nakibot gid ako—she knew when to stand up and when to step down. And at 3yo, she already has a sense of leadership.

To our youth, suguran na ninyo subong - work as a team, learn from your mistakes, and do not be afraid to take initiative.

Kabataan man kamo nga nagatuon kag nagahandum pa lang sa subong, apang nagapati ako, mahimo kamo nga mangin Lideres nga may dignidad kag hugot nga pagpalangga sa siyudad - sa palaabuton.

PREPARING FOR SUPER EL NIÑO 🌦️

We want to be prepared for the possible impacts of Super El Niño, especially its effect on our water supply. That’s why we will summarize the findings from the Scientific Forum and work with the appropriate agencies and teams to develop action plans that can help ease the burden on Ilonggos.

During El Niño, indi lang sobra nga kainit ang aton dapat i-preparahan. May posibilidad man sang intermittent rains, gani kinahanglan man naton maghanda para sa possible flooding.

Padayon kita sa pagplano kag pag-prepare, because the earlier we act, the better we can protect our communities.
