The SSC IPMR Documentation Team composed of Ms. Judith C. Mendez, CAO I, and Mr. Regie B. Matnog, TAA I, documented the conduct of the IPMR Selection in Barangay Bolos, Municipality of Irosin, Province of Sorsogon.
Mr. Julius B. Cater, the sole nominee, was once again reselected and confirmed by the Selectors Chairman together with the Indigenous Political Structure (IPS) as the newly selected IPMR for his second term in the Local Legislative Council of Barangay Bolos.
The successful conduct of the activity reflects the continued recognition of Indigenous Peoplesโ participation and representation in local governance and community decision-making.

The SSC IPMR Documentation Team composed of Ms. Karen Shane Andrade-Bobier, Nurse II, and Mr. John Paul D. Trestiza, TAA II, documented the conduct of the IPMR Selection held in Barangay San Rafael, Prieto Diaz, Sorsogon last May 11, 2026.
Mr. Wellington Bien, the sole nominee, was reselected and confirmed by the Selectors Chairman together with the Indigenous Political Structure (IPS) as the IPMR for his third term in the Local Legislative Council of Barangay San Rafael.
The activity highlights the continued participation of Indigenous Peoples in local governance and strengthens their representation in the barangay legislative council.

The NCIP Region V, represented by Engr. Imelda G. Pantaleon, CAO II/BSC Acting Head, together with Mr. Ronie N. Yaguel on behalf of Regional Director Roland P. Calde participated in the launching of the project โSafeguarding Health for a Sustainable Future: An Indigenous Peoples-Centered Health & Environmental Sustainability Initiativeโ at the Tadyong Tribal Community, Iraya Street, San Pedro, Iriga City.
The initiative, spearheaded by the Tadyong Tribal Farmers Association, Inc. under the leadership of City IPMR/Chieftain Margarita B. Cabria, was funded by the TELUS International Philippines Foundation, Inc. and attended by partner stakeholders including ICENRO, City Health Office of Iriga.
A Ceremonial Groundbreaking Ceremony for the installation of water tanks, filtration system, and handwashing facilities was also conducted to support the health and sanitation needs of the Agta/Agta-Tabangnon community. The activity reflects the continuing partnership and commitment towards promoting the welfare and sustainable development of Indigenous Peoples.

The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples Region V successfully conducted the NCIP V 2026 GAD Activity โ Part II on May 20โ21, 2026 at Cocabanas Beach Resort, Oas Albay with the active participation of NCIP Region V officials and personnel.
The two-day activity featured learning sessions on gender responsiveness, mental health, employee welfare, and stress management, alongside wellness and team-building activities that strengthened collaboration, camaraderie, and organizational solidarity among employees.
The successful conduct of the activity reaffirmed NCIP Region Vโs continuing commitment to fostering a responsive, healthy, and collaborative work environment anchored on gender equality, employee well-being, and organizational solidarity in service to Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples (ICCs/IPs).

The Department of Justice โ Parole and Probation Administration (DOJ-PPA), through CPO Ruth Abejero together with her colleagues, conducted a courtesy visit to NCIP Region V headed by Regional Director Atty. Roland P. Calde.
The discussion focused on the existing Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between NCIP and DOJ-PPA, particularly on strengthening and expanding its implementation at the regional level. The partnership aims to enhance culturally responsive programs and services for Indigenous Peoples, including rehabilitation support, restorative justice initiatives, awareness seminars, capability-building activities, and other community-based interventions for IP clients and their families.
Through strengthened collaboration, both agencies reaffirm their shared commitment to promoting the rights, welfare, and holistic development of Indigenous Peoples communities.

The activity featured discussions on ethical standards in public service, gender responsiveness, workplace wellness, and team-building activities aimed at strengthening collaboration, professionalism, and employee well-being.

The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples Region V, headed by Regional Director Roland P. Calde had a courtesy meeting with Mayor Ding Abliter of Balatan, Camarines Sur following the LGUโs request for assistance to help accelerate the implementation and completion of the circumferential road project in the municipality.
The initiative seeks to improve accessibility and mobility within the area, particularly to strengthen Indigenous Peoplesโ access to government programs and services such as DOLEโs TUPAD and other livelihood and social development interventions.
The engagement underscores the shared commitment of NCIP and the LGU to advance infrastructure development that supports inclusive growth and improved service delivery for Indigenous Cultural Communities.

Calde, and the Department of Agriculture Region V, led by Regional Executive Director Rodel P. Tornilla. Also present during the meeting were NCIP V CDO III/Polangui Service Center Head Ian Jose G. Alamares and Engineer I Ivy D. Dineros.
The discussion focused on possible agricultural programs and projects for Indigenous Peoples (IPs), particularly for IP communities affected by calamities in Albay. The meeting also tackled opportunities for support and assistance to IPs residing within and outside Ancestral Domains, aiming to strengthen collaboration and enhance the delivery of government services to ICCs/IPs.
