Our municipality is incredibly proud to stand alongside you as we share top honors for the Most Senior Citizen Friendly Municipality (tied with Malay town) in the entire Province of Aklan! 🏆❤️

Both of our LGUs achieving the coveted "IDEAL" Level of Functionality during the 2026 Search for Most Senior Citizen Friendly Municipality is a massive win for our communities. With Kalibo & Malay garnering an exceptional score of 58 out of 60. This milestone reflects the deep dedication, care, and love we collectively hold for our beloved senior citizens across Aklan.

Congratulations to the Municipality of Kalibo, under the leadership of Mayor Juris B. Sucro, for once again earning national recognition in good governance and sustainable development!

Kalibo was recognized as 1st Runner-Up – Top Philippine Model Municipality and 1st Runner-Up – Sustainability Champion, affirming the municipality’s continuing efforts toward responsive, progressive, and sustainable local governance.

To strengthen the partnership between the Commission on Filipinos Overseas and Municipal Government of Kalibo, Aklan, a series of capacity-building activities for local officials of the said LGU was conducted on 16 September 2026 at Kalibo, Aklan.

In pursuit of strengthening migration and development initiatives at the local level, this partnership aims to highlight Kalibo's unique programs and digital services through a localized platform, to better connect and engage Aklanon Non-Resident Filipinos hailing from Kalibo, Aklan.

The above conditions are being experienced in (Sebaste, Pandan, Libertad, Culasi, Bugasong, LauaAn, Barbaza, Tibiao, Patnongon, Belison, SanRemigio, Valderrama), (Malinao, Ibajay, Tangalan, Makato, Numancia, Lezo, Nabas, Malay, Buruanga, Madalag, Libacao), (Jamindan, Tapaz), (Calinog, Carles, Lambunao), (Cauayan, CityOfSipalay, HinobaAn, Candoni), (Pres.CarlosP.Garcia, Ubay), (Magsaysay, Cuyo, Agutaya and Linapacan) which may persist within 1 to 2 hours and may affect nearby areas.

All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides. Keep monitoring for updates.

Sa pangunguna ni Kalibo Mayor Juris Sucro buong ipinagmamalaki nito ang napakagandang Kalibo booth na kalahok sa 37th Philippine Travel Mart sa SMX Mall of Asia na nakatakdang magbukas ngayong araw ng Biyernes.

Dito ibibida ang mga turismo, produkto, kultura at ang pagiging Haboe Piña at Mother of All Philippine Festival na Ati-Atihan ng Kalibo, Aklan upang lalo itong palakasin at tangkilin ng nakakaraming Pilipino.
