Strengthening governance: LGU Lambunao reaffirms commitment to fiscal responsibility

Upholding its commitment to transparency and accountability, the Local Government Unit of Lambunao convened with the Commission on Audit (COA) to tackle the audit of CY 2025 Accounts and Financial Transactions.

The exit conference held today, May 13, 2025, focused on key audit findings and strategic measures to enhance financial management, strengthen internal controls, and promote sustainable governance.

Reflecting on the significance of the activity, Dr. Flordelyn G. Amon, the Senior Administrative Assistant, who delivered a message on behalf of Mayor Reynor R. Gonzales, said that the LGU welcomes every finding and observation and will abide by recommendations to ensure accuracy, transparency, and fairness for better public service.

As LGU Lambunao moves forward, it remains steadfast in fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and operational excellence.

Ultimately, the exit conference led by State Auditor IV John Thomas L. Nismal highlighted that fiscal integrity is not a one-time accomplishment but a continuous process of learning, improvement, and adaptation.

The exit conference, held at the Lambunao Government Center Conference Room, was attended by the department heads, heads of offices, and concerned office representatives.

LGU Lambunao and CPU hold free medical services at Barangay Poong

The Local Government Unit of Lambunao through the Lambunao Primary Care Facility, in partnership with the Central Philippine University-College of Medicine, organized a community circumcision and consultation in Barangay Poong, Lambunao, Iloilo.

Based on the records, the free circumcision services catered to 100 young individuals while 200 received medical consultations.

This initiative has an aim to enhance hygiene and health awareness among the youth, particularly for families who may lack the financial resources to obtain health services.

In addition, support was also provided by the Dr. Ricardo Y. Ladrido Memorial Hospital, the Lambunao Metro Lions Club, and other sponsors, all of which played a significant role in the success of this event.

The activity was held on May 9, 2026, at the Poong Covered Court.

DAR to bring Project SPLIT services in Barangay Cabatangan

The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR)—Iloilo is set to deliver its services directly to the agrarian reform beneficiaries in Barangay Cabatangan, Lambunao, Iloilo.

From May 12 to 14, 2026, the Redocumentation Completion Team 3 of Project SPLIT (Support to Parcelization of Land for Individual Titling) will facilitate the issuance of individual titles to agrarian reform beneficiaries from the said barangay.

Through Project SPLIT, the collective land titles—Collective Certificates of Land Ownership Awards (CCLOAs), which serve as a single document listing multiple farmers—will be converted into individual land titles at no cost.

Before the start of the activity, the Redocumentation Completion Team, under the leadership of legal officer Atty. Mnemosyne Racid L. Luis, along with Municipal Agrarian Reform Program Officer (MARPO) Dr. Emee E. Saplada and her team, made a courtesy visit to the mayor's office this morning, May 11, 2026.

On behalf of Mayor Reynor R. Gonzales, they received a warm welcome from Vice Mayor Arvin L. Losaria, Senior Administrative Assistant Dr. Flordelyn G. Amon, and Executive Assistants Lemie S. Leonida and Norlene L. Losbañes.

LGU Lambunao receives recognition from various stakeholders

The local government unit of Lambunao received recognitions from various stakeholders.

Among these were the Certificate of Commendation from the Officers and Members of the Philippine Association of Civil Registrars and the Certificate of Appreciation from the West Visayas State University-Lambunao Campus.

The first award mentioned was to acknowledge the LGU's vital role and commitment in ensuring that Philippine civil registration goals and mandates are translated into tangible actions at the local level in order that national objectives are aligned with the needs of the Filipino people.

Meanwhile, the WVSU-LC recognized the LGU's invaluable support, active participation, and meaningful feedback provided to ICT students during their 3-month OJT.

The aforementioned accolades were presented during the flag-raising ceremony this morning, May 11, 2026, in the presence of the members of the Sangguniang Bayan led by Vice Mayor Arvin L. Losaria, Dr. Flordelyn G. Amon (Senior Administrative Assistant), and Mrs. Lilibeth L. Lucero (Municipal Civil Registrar).

Youth volunteers earn Red Cross top distinctions

The Philippine Red Cross Iloilo Chapter commended the Lambunao Community Red Cross Youth Council for their outstanding volunteer efforts.

During the Red Cross Youth Iloilo Chapter Awards 2026, the Lambunao CRCYC was named first runner-up as the top-performing council in Iloilo Province (Community RCY Category) as well as the Lifesaver Council awardee.

Individual awards were also given to the following outstanding members of Lambunao CRCYC:

1. Keanne Gwyneth A. Gudienes, the immediate past vice president—external, received the Service Medal with Citation (the highest award given by the Red Cross Youth Iloilo Chapter).

2. Sanjoe M. Bisorio, the council president, received the Certificate of Volunteerism.

3. Mary Francine L. Facultad, the immediate past vice president—internal, received the Certificate of Volunteerism.

4. Erica Mae Dorego, the vice president of internal affairs, received the Certificate of Volunteerism.

With their achievement, the Local Government Unit of Lambunao, through the Sangguniang Bayan, also conferred a resolution of commendation to the Lambunao CRCYC with the guidance of their adviser, Ms. Mary Josie O. Calseña.

The presentation and distribution of certificates were done during the flag-raising ceremony this morning, May 11, 2026, with the presence of the members of the Sangguniang Bayan and Dr. Flordelyn G. Amon, the senior administrative assistant, as the representative of Mayor Reynor R. Gonzales.
