02 OCTOBER 2026 | ANNUAL PHYSICAL INVENTORY OF PROPERTY, PLANT AND EQUIPMENT CY 2026 — DAY 5

IN PHOTOS: The BFP Regional Office 4A – Supply Management Accountability Unit, headed by FSUPT VAN JOSHUA M FLORES, concluded another phase of the Annual Physical Inventory of Property, Plant and Equipment CY 2026 at fire stations in Quezon.

The inventory provides an opportunity to physically validate government properties and equipment against existing records, helping ensure proper documentation, accountability, and safekeeping of BFP resources.

The Office of the Provincial Fire Marshal (OPFM) Quezon, led by FSUPT AURELIO E ZALUN, DSC, Acting Provincial Fire Marshal, with FSUPT EDWIN M CARANTO, DSC, Deputy Provincial Fire Marshal, continues to support the activity to promote sound property management and responsible use of government resources.

On the fifth day, the inventory covered Dolores, San Antonio, and Tiaong Fire Stations.

IN PHOTOS: The Annual Physical Inventory of Property, Plant and Equipment CY 2026 continued at various fire stations in Quezon, with the BFP Regional Office 4A – Supply Management Accountability Unit, headed by FSUPT VAN JOSHUA M FLORES, conducting the inspection and verification of government properties and equipment.

The activity is undertaken to establish the actual condition and accountability of properties assigned to each unit, while ensuring that records remain complete, accurate, and properly maintained.

IN PHOTOS: The BFP Regional Office 4A – Supply Management Accountability Unit, headed by FSUPT VAN JOSHUA M FLORES, continued the conduct of the Annual Physical Inventory of Property, Plant and Equipment CY 2026 at selected fire stations in Quezon.

The activity, supported by FSUPT AURELIO E ZALUN, DSC, Acting Provincial Fire Marshal, and FSUPT EDWIN M CARANTO, DSC, Deputy Provincial Fire Marshal, focuses on the actual verification and accounting of government-owned properties and equipment assigned to BFP units.

Through the inventory, property records are checked and updated, while accountability for the proper utilization, maintenance, and safekeeping of government resources is reinforced.

For its third day, the inventory team visited Alabat, Quezon, Perez, and Atimonan Fire Stations as part of the continuing province-wide inventory activity.

Tayabas City, Quezon - Two brave responders from the Tayabas City Fire Station, FO2 Alpuerto and FO2 Ibarrola, spearheaded an immediate emergency response following a vehicular accident along Barangay Kanlurang Palale last 30 September 2026.

Upon receiving the dispatch report, the Bureau of Fire Protection - Emergency Medical Services (BFP-EMS) team immediately deployed to the scene. Joining forces with the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (CDRRM) team, the first responders provided swift first aid and necessary medical support to stabilize the injured victim at the site. Following on-site emergency treatment, the casualty was safely transported by the joint rescue team to their preferred medical facility for further medical evaluation and treatment.

BFP CALABARZON continue to remind drivers and commuters to exercise extra caution, observe speed limits, and stay alert to prevent similar road accidents. For any emergency, dial 911.

The Personnel Headcount verified the presence and accountability of personnel, including compliance with Memorandum Circular 2019-015, or the Policy on BFP Standard Uniforms and Accoutrements. The O.R.S.I.T.E. inspection, on the other hand, assessed the station’s operational readiness, including its personnel, facilities, equipment, and available resources for responding to fire incidents and other emergencies.

The activity also provided the Provincial Office an opportunity to monitor the actual condition of the station, identify operational concerns, and determine areas that may need improvement or appropriate action.

Through regular monitoring and inspections, BFP Quezon continues to strengthen personnel accountability, operational readiness, and the delivery of effective fire protection and emergency services.

OIC-BFP ADDRESSES ATTACK ON FIREFIGHTER DURING FIRE RESPONSE

The BFP strongly condemns the attack against a responding firefighter during a fire incident in Brgy. Bangate, Barcelona, Sorsogon, on September 27, 2026.

While preparing for overhaul operations, FO2 Kris Ann G Conda was suddenly attacked by the owner of the house using a bolo-like weapon, sustaining multiple lacerations on her left lower back. She was immediately provided first aid and transported to the nearest hospital for medical attention.

The BFP assures its personnel of its continued support and protection as they carry out their duty to save lives and protect property. FCSUPT Wilberto Rico Neil A Kwan Tiu also emphasizes that acts of violence against firefighters responding to emergencies will not be tolerated and urges the public to respect and cooperate with firefighters in the performance of their duties.
