We’re bringing BODY & HEAD: Philippine Indigenous Blankets & Headscarves from the 20th Century & Beyond to Build Peace 2026 () in Waterloo, Canada 🇨🇦🇵🇭🧵

Presented by Hibla Philippines as part of this year’s Build Peace Conference, Body & Head brings together textile traditions from eight Indigenous and ethnolinguistic communities in the Philippines, looking at how blankets, headscarves, and other forms of cloth have carried ideas of identity, status, memory, protection, and belonging across generations.

We’re bringing Inabel Binakol weaving to the Textile Museum of Canada in partnership with Philcongen Toronto 🇵🇭🧵

Join us for a beginner-friendly, hands-on workshop exploring Binakol, one of Northern Luzon’s most recognizable weaving traditions, known for its striking geometric patterns and optical movement.

Participants will learn the basics of the pattern and create their own woven piece during the session.
