City Nutrition Program Coordinators from Malaybalay City participated in the 8th District/City/Municipal Nutrition Program Coordinatorsโ€™ General Assembly held on September 29-30, 2026 at Apple Tree Resort & Hotel, Opol, Misamis Oriental.

Representing Malaybalay City were CNPC El Jene I. Lopena, Chapter Secretary of the Association, together with CNPC Jeycel Lumalang, CNPC Rhea Paula Rara, and CNPC Trisha Riam Labadan.

The two-day assembly featured sessions on strengthening nutrition advocacy, evidence-based local nutrition programming, leadership and management, and Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) for Nutrition, along with the associationโ€™s business meeting and organizational matters.

The activity provided an avenue for nutrition program coordinators to strengthen professional collaboration, share experiences, and further enhance local nutrition program implementation.

๐Ÿ“22-24 September 2026, Kaamulan Folk Arts Theater, Malaybalay City

Delegates from different Local Government Units (LGUs) in Northern Mindanao participated in the Parade of Participants during the 9th Regional BNS Conference at Kaamulan Folk Arts Theater, Malaybalay City.

Around 2,000+ Barangay Nutrition Scholars, Nutrition Action Officers, District/City/Municipal Nutrition Program Coordinators (MNPCs), Nutrition Office staffs and Local Nutrition Committee (LNC) members from the five provinces - Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental and Oriental and nine (9) cities - Cagayan de Oro, El Salvador, Gingoog, Iligan, Malaybalay, Oroquieta, Ozamiz, Tangub, and Valencia City showcased their respective banners headed by the Federated Presidents and Mutya ng BNS candidates.

The event was organized by the National Barangay Nutrition Scholars Federation Inc. Northern Mindanao Chapter, National Nutrition Council Region X, in coordination with City Government of Malaybalay and Provincial Government of Bukidnon.

Malaybalay City proudly hosted the 9th Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) Conference on September 23, 2026, bringing together BNS and nutrition partners for a meaningful day of learning, sharing, fellowship, and celebration. ๐Ÿ’š

The conference featured a series of activities designed to strengthen the knowledge, skills, and commitment of BNS in advancing nutrition programs in their communities.

Our sincere thanks to Hon. Atty. Jay Warren R. Pabillaran, Mayor of Malaybalay City and Chairperson of the City Nutrition Committee, and Hon. Rogelio Neil P. Roque, Governor of Bukidnon and Chairperson of the Provincial Nutrition Committee, for their support and opening remarks.

BNS and nutrition partners came together for a day of learning, sharing, fellowship, and celebration, with sessions on the Kalusugan at Nutrisyon ng Mag-Nanay Act, multisectoral convergence for barangay nutrition, digital citizenship, and BNS best practices.

The day also included the BNS General Assembly and the Mutya ng BNS Amateur Singing Contest.
