AN ACT FIXING THE TERM OF OFFICE OF BARANGAY OFFICIALS AND MEMBERS OF THE SANGGUNIANG KABATAAN TO FIVE (5) YEARS, AMENDING REPUBLIC ACT NO. 12232 OR "AN ACT SETTING THE TERM OF OFFICE OF BARANGAY OFFICIALS AND MEMBERS OF THE SANGGUNIANG KABATAAN, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES”

👉 5-year term for all Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Officials
📆 November 13, 2028 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections

Dahil dito, ang Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections sa November 2, 2026 ay hindi na itutuloy. Kinakansela na rin ng COMELEC ang Calendar of Activities, kasama na ang Filing of Certificates of Candidacy mula September 28 hanggang October 5, 2026, pati na rin ang mga kaugnay na Prohibitions on Disbursement of Public Funds, Transfer, Appointment, Promotions, Suspensions, atbp, at ang nakatakdang Election Period simula October 3, 2026.

In support of the observance of Cultural Communities Week 2026, the personnel of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), Province of Bukidnon, actively participated today in the celebration to recognize, appreciate, and promote the rich cultural heritage, traditions, and contributions of the country's Indigenous Peoples and cultural communities.
In accordance with Proclamation No. 250, s. Signed in 1988 by President Corazon Aquino, the second week of July is designated as “Cultural Communities Week,” an annual opportunity to recognize, celebrate, and preserve the unique culture, history, and identity of indigenous communities.
Their culture is not just a legacy of the past, it is a living foundation of our national identity. Every tradition, language, and knowledge in their care is part of the nation's wealth.
Let's celebrate this week together! Inviting everyone to join NCIP's programs and carry out their own activity that pays tribute to the colorful culture of indigenous people.

Tinatanggap ito bilang valid ID sa mga ahensya ng gobyerno, tulad ng:
✅ Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) – para sa pagkuha o pag-renew ng passport.
✅ ...at iba pang piling transaksyon!
💡 Tip: Siguraduhing kumuha nito sa opisyal na opisina ng COMELEC sa inyong munisipyo o lungsod kung kailangan mo ng alternatibong ID.

This Pride Month, we celebrate the courage, diversity, and invaluable contributions of the LGBTQIA+ community in building a more inclusive and equitable society.

As an impartial electoral body, the Commission on Elections recognizes that every Filipino, regardless of s*xual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or s*x characteristics, has the fundamental right to participate in the democratic process. After all, democracy thrives when all voices are represented and empowered.

As we honor Pride Month, let us continue to nurture a culture of respect, dignity, and equal opportunity to ensure that no Filipino is left behind in electoral participation.
