PNP AT BFP, RUMISPONDE SA SUNOG SA STO. TOMAS, ISABELA

Mabilis na naapula ang sunog sa Brgy. B**a Oriental, Sto. Tomas Police Station at Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Sto.

“In every emergency situation, the immediate protection of lives and property remains our top priority,” dagdag pa ni PGEN Nartatez.

PNP BUSTS ILLEGAL LPG REFILLING IN CALOOCAN; 17 ARRESTED, ₱25-M SEIZED

The Philippine National Police (PNP) arrested seventeen individuals during the implementation of a search warrant against an establishment engaged in the alleged illegal handling and refilling of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in Caloocan City on May 2, 2026.

Operatives of the Regional Special Operations Unit of the National Capital Region Police Office carried out the operation from early morning until mid-morning at a facility in Barangay 163, Sta. Quiteria, Caloocan City.

The action led to the confiscation of various LPG cylinders of different brands and sizes, refilling equipment, compressors, a transport truck, and other materials used in the operation, with an estimated total value of ₱25 million.

Authorities said several of the recovered items showed signs of tampering, indicating possible unauthorized refilling and repackaging activities in violation of Republic Act No. 11592, or the LPG Regulation Act. PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., commended the operating units for the successful operation and emphasized the importance of protecting public safety from hazardous practices.

LPG is highly sensitive, and improper handling can put lives and properties at risk.

The operation forms part of the PNP’s intensified efforts under its Focused Agenda, particularly on Enhanced Managing Police Operations, aimed at addressing illegal activities that pose risks to public safety. It also supports the broader direction of the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in ensuring accountability and public protection.
