Proud to stand beside a filmmaker who shares stories with courage and heart. ๐Ÿ’–

An acclaimed director and producer best known for award-winning documentaries such as โ€œSunday Beauty Queenโ€ and the powerful film โ€œFood Delivery: Fresh from the West Philippine Sea,โ€ Baby Ruth Villarama, an Inquirer Women of Power 2026 awardee, uses storytelling to amplify Filipino voices and bring critical social issues to the forefront.

She told the Inquirer, โ€œIn a time when life feels heavy and uncertain, going to the movies is not just an escape. It is a way of remembering that we are not alone. That our stories matter. That even in difficulty, there is still space for meaning, beauty, and connection.โ€

โ€œEddie Romero believed cinema could hold a nation together long enough for it to recognize itself. Today, we carry that belief forward. Because when memory survives, identity survives. And when identity survives, a people can endureโ€ฆ no matter how dark the times.โ€ - Baby Ruth Villarama

A filmmakerโ€™s legacy lives in the people he shaped.

In Eddie Romero Remastered, the impact of Eddie Romero is told through the voices of his stars, collaborators, and historians who witnessed how he helped define Philippine cinema across generations.

This is more than remembrance.
It is a reminder that Filipino cinema has always dared to stand tall.

From low budget B movies to films that outlived trends, Eddie Romero did not wait for permission. He worked with what he had, trusted the story, and kept going. Take after take. Decade after decade.

This is not a victory lap. It is a reminder that cinema moves forward because someone dares to try again.

For creators told they are too small, too local, or too late: belief is the budget. Persistence is the plan.
