A productive dialogue last Monday between PASEI and fellow overseas recruitment industry leaders with the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC), which is also celebrating its 51st founding anniversary this week 🤝

We tackled key landbased OFW concerns, varying foreign labor standards, and other important updates affecting our sector. 🌍🧑‍💼

The NLRC also shared that they have been in continuous coordination with the DMW to help ensure greater uniformity and consistency in rulings. ⚖️📘

PASEI will continue to update its members and will keep working closely with the NLRC to help improve processes and outcomes for our OFWs and stakeholders. 🇵🇭✨

📣 PASEI Strengthens Collaboration with WorkAbroad.ph for a Smarter, Technology-Driven Platform

The Philippine Association of Service Exporters, Inc. (PASEI), led by President Rowena Paragas and Chairman Emeritus Director Edwina Beech, joined a special event hosted by WorkAbroad.ph that gathered key representatives from government agencies, training institutions, and industry partners—including the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), various training centers, the Philippine Nurses Association, PASEI members, and several major sponsors.

The event served as a platform for WorkAbroad.ph to present its newly enhanced, AI-driven recruitment system—an innovation designed to make overseas employment search and talent matching smarter, faster, and more responsive to the needs of both job seekers and recruitment agencies.

In her message, Ms. Paragas highlighted the crucial role that digital platforms such as WorkAbroad.ph play in transforming the way the recruitment industry connects Filipino talent with global opportunities. She noted that PASEI members actively utilize WorkAbroad’s technology to improve transparency, streamline processes, and uphold ethical recruitment standards.

She expressed optimism for deeper collaboration between PASEI and WorkAbroad.ph—not only in supporting the platform’s existing features, but also in co-creating innovative solutions that can further enhance its reach and effectiveness.

“With your continued partnership and support,” Ms. Paragas emphasized, “our industry can explore new ways to harness technology through data integration, skills-matching tools, and compliance-driven features that make recruitment more responsive, ethical, and future-ready.”

In addition, she raised the need for digital tools that can detect and filter out fraudulent or non-serious applicants who misuse online platforms to deceive or cause harm to legitimate recruitment agencies. She recommended that WorkAbroad.ph strengthen its system to identify and flag potential scammers or insincere applicants, as such incidents not only waste valuable agency resources but also harm the credibility of the recruitment sector as a whole.

“While WorkAbroad.ph already plays a key role in connecting job seekers with approved job orders,” she said, “it would also be beneficial if the platform could identify applicants who are not genuinely seeking employment but instead exploit the system for malicious intent.”

The PASEI President concluded by reaffirming PASEI’s commitment to support digital transformation and responsible innovation in the recruitment industry. She noted that the partnership with WorkAbroad.ph reflects a shared vision to empower overseas job seekers, protect ethical recruiters, and ensure that technology continues to serve the welfare of Filipino workers around the world.
