⚠️ URGENT ADVISORY: Is your business ready for the Trash Audit? 🗑️⚖️

Following the tragic Binaliw landfill crisis, Cebu City has officially moved to STRICT ENFORCEMENT of the "No Segregation, No Collection" policy as of February 1, 2026.

Under City Ordinance No. 2031, the city is no longer just giving warnings. If your waste isn't sorted, it stays on your doorstep and a citation is likely next.

Why this matters for Cebu City Business Owners:

Hefty Fines: Penalties for businesses range from ₱1,500 to ₱5,000 per violation.

Permit at Risk: Three violations can lead to the suspension or revocation of your Business Permit.

Personal Liability: Responsible officers can be held personally liable for corporate non-compliance.

Don't let a "trash ticket" derail your operations.

Navigating the Ease of Paying Taxes (EOPTA) Act in 2026

As the January 31 tax deadline approaches, HMVCC Law Offices would like to remind the Cebu business community of a significant change in our tax landscape.

Under the Ease of Paying Taxes Act, the PHP 500 Annual Registration Fee (ARF) is now a thing of the past. Business taxpayers are no longer required to file BIR Form 0605 or pay the registration fee to maintain their status.

This reform is a major step toward streamlining business operations in the Philippines. However, many businesses still carry "Open Cases" or unresolved issues from previous years that can hinder growth or complicate future transactions.

Ensure your business is starting the year on the right legal footing.

THE ONE-PERSON CORPORATION: Modern Business, Made Simpler

The Revised Corporation Code (RCC) continues to transform how businesses operate in the Philippines, making it easier, faster, and more efficient to start and manage your company.

Why the OPC Matters

The One-Person Corporation (OPC) structure removes traditional barriers:
✔️ No minimum capital requirement
✔️ Only one incorporator needed
✔️ Perfect for sole proprietors, freelancers, and SMEs ready to scale

This gives entrepreneurs corporate protection without the complexity of finding additional shareholders.

Digital-First Governance

The RCC now embraces fully modernized systems:
✔️ Electronic filing of reports
✔️ Remote participation in board or shareholder meetings
✔️ Streamlined corporate housekeeping

This means faster setup, easier compliance, and smoother day-to-day operations for growing businesses.

Build Smart. Build Modern. Build Compliant.
