Noong May 25-27, 2026, matagumpay na naisagawa sa pangunguna ng Commission on Population and Development National Capital Region (CPD NCR) ang Training of Facilitators on KAlalakihang Tapat sa Responsibilidad at Obligasyon sa Pamilya (KATROPA) sa The Linden Suites, Ortigas Center, Pasig City.
Ang KATROPA ay isang flagship program sa ilalim ng Responsible Parenthood and Family Planning (RPFP) program ng CPD, na naglalayong palawakin ang kamalayan at kahalagahan ng aktibong pakikilahok ng mga kalalakihan sa mga responsibilidad at obligasyon sa tahanan, partikular sa pagpapalaki ng mga anak, gawaing bahay, pagplaplano ng pamilya, at sa kabuoang pag-unlad ng mag-anak.
Kaugnay din nito ang layuning humubog at bumuo ng isang pool ng KATROPA advocates sa mga LGU at CSO partners sa buong Metro Manila na magsisilbing ehemplo at boses upang magsilbing inspirasyon sa iba pang mga kalalakihan sa kani-kanilang lokalidad.

On May 22, 2026, the Commission on Population and Development National Capital Region (CPD NCR), in partnership with the Valenzuela City Population Management Office, successfully conducted a Parent-Teen Talk Session at Action Center, Brgy. Dalandanan, Valenzuela City.
The activity highlighted the importance of having a safe, open and gender-sensitive communication between parents and teens to further enhance their relationship. By breaking communication barriers, the parents could further guide their teens in practicing sound decision-making particularly on sexuality related concerns. The PTT also aimed to create stronger family connections through meaningful dialogue and shared learning among family members.

Seen here is Ms. Jackylin D. Robel, Director of the Commission on Population and Development National Capital Region (CPD NCR), during the Regional Dissemination Forum on Key Indicators of the 2025 National Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS) happening today, May 26, 2026.
Dir. Robel, served as resource person and delivered a message on the policy implications of the 2025 NDHS, a comprehensive nationwide survey that contain indicators on fertility, family planning, fertility preferences, childhood mortality, maternal care, child health and development, violence against women, and other health issues.
These are all vital indicators that will serve as bases in the development of policies and strategies in addressing population-related issues and ensuring coordination and implementation of the Philippine Population and Development Plan of Action (PPD-POA) in Metro Manila, consequently achieving sustainable and inclusive development at all levels.

On May 18, 2026, the Commission on Population and Development National Capital Region (CPD NCR), in partnership with the San Juan City Population and Development Department (SJPDD), conducted the Registry of Barangay Inhabitants and Migrants (RBIM) Assessment.
The activity aimed to review the current status of RBIM implementation, share updates and best practices, surface gaps or challenges encountered at the local level, and identify areas for further strengthening of RBIM.
Through this initiative, CPD NCR and the SJPDD continue to promote data-driven governance and responsive public service delivery for every San Juaneรฑo.

As part of the continuing and strengthened partnership between the Kaisahang Buhay Foundation (KBF), Inc. and the Commission on Population and Development National Capital Region (CPD NCR), a Health Education Seminar was successfully conducted on May 19, 2026 at Rosalie Rendu Development Center Inc., Paraรฑaque City.
Rooted in a shared commitment of empowering adolescents and their families, the activity provided adolescents with essential knowledge and practical life skills to make informed and healthy choices, covering session on essential topics like health, sexuality, nutrition, and life planning.
Through this collaboration, CPD NCR and KBF continue to promote adolescent awareness, prevent early pregnancies and other sexual activities, and help build stronger, healthier futures for the Filipino adolescents.

On May 18, 2026, Commission on Population and Development National Capital Region (CPD NCR), mainly represented by CPD NCR Regional Director, Ms. Jackylin D. Robel, conducted the Capacity Development (CapDev) Assessment on the implementation of the Philippine Population and Development Plan of Action (PPD-POA) 2023-2028 with Pasig City POPDEV Office.
Held at Room 302, 3rd Floor of the Temporary City Hall at Pasig City, the sessions brought together Pasig City staff led by Pasig Cityโs Population Program Officer IV, Prof. Corazon Raymundo, to align the cityโs localized strategies with national and regional population and development goals. The assessment served as a baseline to evaluate Pasig Cityโs POPDEV Officeโs current capabilities, identify strategic gaps, and optimize resources for sustainable development.
By fostering a deeper understanding of the PPD-POA 2023-2028 framework and the Capacity Development pillars, the activity emphasized the importance of integrating population dynamics into local development planning. Strengthening these capacity ensures that Pasig City remains proactive and data-driven in addressing the evolving needs of every Pasigueรฑo.
The insights gathered from this assessment will pave the way for more targeted policies, inclusive programs, and more efficient public service delivery which aspires to build a vibrant, resilient, and human-centric Pasig City where no one is left behind!

The Commission on Population and Development National Capital Region (CPD NCR) led by its Regional Director, Ms. Jackylin D. Robel, successfully conducted the Population and Development Leadership Course (POPDEV Lead Course): Basic Module for NCR Population Officers last May 4 to 7, 2026 at Hotel Lucky Chinatown, Binondo, Manila.
The four-day capacity-building activity gathered the First Batch of NCR Population Officers and focal persons to strengthen their competencies in population and development leadership, strategic planning, policy advocacy, and evidence-based governance responsive to emerging and evolving demographic challenges in the National Capital Region.
The Course was graced by highly experienced resource persons who were CPD CALABARZON Regional Director, Ms. Marilyn F. Ogaya; CPD Region III Regional Director, Ms. Odette P. Nacionales; Division Chief of Capacity Development and Field Operations Division (CDFOD) of CPD Central Office, Ms. Mary Jane Casimiro; and, Ms. Mildred P. Andaleon, the Population Officer of Muntinlupa City and the first POPDEV Lead Course Finisher from Metro Manila.
The short but full-packed Course served as a platform for participants to deepen their understanding of the crucial link between population dynamics and sustainable development, while enhancing their skills in championing POPDEV integration at the local level.
Through engaging lectures, workshops, and collaborative discussions, participants were equipped with practical tools and leadership strategies necessary in advancing inclusive, data-driven, and proactive population and development programs in their respective local government units.

In addition to CPD NCR's growing list of partners in conducting POPDEV Research and other Population and Development Related Activities is World Citi Colleges (WCC) which signified their commitment to collaborate with CPD NCR through yesterdayโs conducted Ceremonial Signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
During yesterdayโs activity, CPD NCR Regional Director, Ms. Jackylin Robel indicated in her message of support pertaining the collaboration, that CPD NCR highly appreciates agencies and institutions in Metro Manila which are committed to collaborate as one of the foci of the agency is to come up with an existing body of knowledge in the Region through conduct of POPDEV Researches.
On the other hand, World Citi Colleges (WCC) represented by their Head of Research Development and Publication Office, Dr. Marilyn M. Obod described the collaboration with CPD NCR using 4Cs which are Creation, Collaboration, Communication and Commitment which will result to the attainment of both agencies related Sustainable Development Goals.
Both CPD NCR and WCC aspire through each agency representative that the prospective POPDEV Researches that will be conducted will be bases for policy recommendations and formulations for the greater good of the people in Metro Manila.

Regional Director Jackylin D. Robel met with Hon. City Mayor Carmelita 'Menchie' Aguilar-Abalos of Mandaluyong to strengthen collaboration in advancing the population and development agenda in the Tiger City. The meeting highlighted shared commitments toward inclusive growth, responsive governance, and sustainable community development.
Also present during the meeting was Mandaluyong City Health Officer Dr. Arnold Abalos, Designated Population Officer and FP Medical Coordinator Dr. Sheryl Ghia Esquibal, FP Midwife Coordinator Ms. Janeth Escalante, Neil Edward Dela Pena and Angel Bert Pamulaklakin of CPD NCR.
