Ngayong Pride Month, ipinagdiriwang natin ang tapang ng bawat isa na magpakatotoo sa sarili. Ngunit higit sa selebrasyon, paalala ito na marami pa tayong dapat ipaglaban.

Karapatan ng bawat Pilipino ang mabuhay nang may dangal, respeto, at pantay na proteksyon sa ilalim ng batas—anuman ang kanilang kasarian.

Kaya let’s continue building safe spaces for all. Manindigan tayo para sa pagkakapantay-pantay at siguraduhing walang maiiwan.

Dahil sa huli, walang kinikilalang kasarian ang pag-ibig.

The issue is about imbalance, influence, manipulation and whether two people are truly meeting each other on an equal emotional and psychological footing.

Last May 19, the Philippines’ first-ever Sexual Assault Investigation Kit (SAI Kit) was formally launched by the DNA Analysis Laboratory of the Natural Sciences Research Institute (NSRI) at the University of the Philippines Diliman.

Developed through years of research by Filipino scientists and researchers, the Philippine-developed forensic tool aims to improve the collection, handling, transport, and preservation of biological evidence in sexual assault cases—helping strengthen investigations and support accountability through science and evidence.

𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗸𝗶 𝗽𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗮 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗴𝗮 𝗯𝗶𝗸𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗮 𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗲𝘅𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝘃𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲.

Maraming-maraming salamat sa NSRI DNA Analysis Laboratory led by Dr. Maria Corazon A. De Ungria, sa Manila HealthTek Inc. led by Dr. Raul V. Destura, sa Department of Science and Technology under Secretary Renato U. Solidum Jr., at sa lahat ng partner institutions para sa mahalagang milestone na ito sa Philippine forensic science at justice reform.

Asahan po ninyo ang patuloy naming suporta sa mga inisyatibang nagpapalakas ng access to justice at proteksyon para sa mga biktima ng karahasan.

Public office is a public trust, not a fortress against lawful processes. Democratic institutions weaken the moment power becomes a tool to manipulate justice rather than to submit to it.
