Regional Sub-Committee for the Welfare of Children MIMAROPA

The Regional Sub-Committee for the Welfare of Children (RSCWC) MIMAROPA successfully held its First Quarter Meeting on February 18, 2026, at DSWD Field Office MIMAROPA Regional Operations Center, presided by the new RSCWC Chairperson, Director Benchie B. Gonzales. The meeting strengthened the collaboration of its committee members and partners, reinforcing unified action to uphold the four core rights of children: survival, development, protection, and participation across the region.

Together, we move forward with strengthened partnerships and collective action for every child.

The historic groundbreaking ceremony of the country’s first Agricultural Camp for Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL) coincides with the 19th year celebration of the enactment of the Republic Act No. 9344 or the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act (JJWA).

Sec. Gatchalian highlighted that the groundbreaking ceremony is not just a simple event showcasing another infrastructure project, but a testament of our collective action and our unified stand in favor of transformative programs that rehabilitate lives, nurture potential, and pave new pathways to progress for the CICL who have long faced the judgment of society.

Let the groundbreaking ceremony of the country’s first Agricultural Camp be a call for hope, compassion, and second chances for CICLs to rebuild their lives through a restorative justice principle.
