Citing policy reforms, Ambassador urges Chinese investors to seize opportunities in PH

18 May 2026, Beijing - Ambassador Jaime FlorCruz urged Chinese enterprises to seize investment opportunities in the Philippines, citing recent policy reforms aimed at significantly improving the ease of doing business in the country.
The Philippine Ambassador made the pitch at the Beijing session of the Philippine Investment Roadshow on 15 May 2026. He emphasized the robust and bright business outlook in the Philippines.

The event concluded with the signing of three (3) cooperation agreements, including agreements relating to two-way investment services, economic zone cooperation, industrial resource matchmaking, and cross-border enterprise support between Philippine and Chinese entities.

Hosted by Geo Group, in cooperation with the RCEP Alliance Philippines and the Philippine Trade and Investment Center-Beijing, the event highlighted strengthening economic ties and a shared vision for sustainable growth.

The event brought together representatives from several Philippine institutions, Chinese enterprises, and business organizations to present a unified front to Chinese investors, positioning the Philippines as a premier hub for smart, sustainable manufacturing and green technological advancement.

Participants included Philippine Climate Change Commissioner Albert Dela Cruz and Iloilo City Vice Mayor Lady Julie Grace Baronda. (30)

Look! The Department of Tourism’s ‘Love the Philippines’ campaign ads are now up in major cities In China, inviting Chinese tourists to visit PH.

The ads are currently featured on massive billboards along East Nanjing Road, Shanghai; on the West side of Juntai Department Store in Xicheng, Beijing; on Aviation Technology Building in Jinjiang, Chengdu; and at Tianhe Wanlinghui Square in Tianhe, Guangzhou.

On 11 May 2026, Ambassador Jaime FlorCruz joins Colombian Ambassador to China Sergio Cabrera and educator Mr. Michael Crook in a special event “China Across Time.” In a fireside chat attended by over a hundred guests at the PH Embassy, the three Beijing old-timers recalled their experiences in China in the 1960s through the succeeding decades.

Ambassador FlorCruz urges more Chinese to travel to PH during tourism business mission in Beijing . ✈️🌴

The Philippine Tourism Industry Business Mission 2026 brings together tourism partners in Beijing, Chengdu, and Guangzhou to explore new opportunities and stronger collaborations.

Organized by the Philippine Department of Tourism Beijing and Shanghai Offices, the business mission featured presentations on the Philippines’ diverse tourism offerings, including Boracay, Cebu, Palawan, and Manila, as well as tourism products.

“Tourism is about people. It is about encounters, experiences, and stories.” Ambassador FlorCruz said.
