In a world where peace begins with understanding, why does hate still have a voice? 📢

For The Red Spotlight, we went around FEU Manila to ask their take on HIV and the hate speech around it!

Let’s break the silence. Let’s end the hate.

Choose peace. Stop hate speech. Stand with those living with HIV. ❤️

“HIV stigma isn't just outdated—it's deadly. 💔

UNAIDS 2023 global survey revealed that nearly 1 in 3 people living with HIV have faced discrimination due to their status. Online hate speech and misinformation amplify this stigma, leading to isolation and hindering access to life-saving treatment.

It's time to break the silence, challenge the hate, and stand in solidarity.

Educate. Empathize. Empower. ✊🏽

♥️🧣‼️

This is it! Just a few more hours before tonight’s Love Gala…here are some important facts and numbers that we all need to know about HIV here in the Philippines:

💔 Here’s where we stand right now:
- New Daily Cases: 55 Filipinos are diagnosed with HIV every day.
- New Yearly Infections: 29,000 new cases reported in 2023.
- Total People Living with HIV: 190,000 Filipinos.
- Currently Under Treatment: Only 70,915 are on life-saving antiretroviral therapy (ART).

💡 What You Need to Know About U=U:
Undetectable = Untransmittable.
When someone with HIV is on effective treatment and their viral load becomes undetectable, they CANNOT pass on the virus to others.

Sa Tagalog po:
“Kung hindi nakikita, hindi maipapasa.”
Napakahalaga ng maagang testing at paggamot para sa mga taong may HIV. Ang isang taong may HIV ay maaaring mamuhay nang normal at malusog.

📣 Education is the first step to ending the stigma. Testing saves lives. Treatment changes everything. Let’s work together to spread love, not fear. ❤️

DID YOU KNOW?

HIV actually stands for Human Immunodeficiency Virus, and the term “AIDS” stands for Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome. HIV is the virus that causes AIDS, and with proper treatment, many people with HIV can live long, healthy lives without ever developing AIDS. This is why early diagnosis and treatment are so important!
