𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒: The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), through the Coast Guard Finance Service (CGFS) welcomed the participants of the Armed Forces of the Philippines Financial Management Course (AFPFMC) Class 37-2026 during their Informative Program Visit (IPV) held at the National Headquarters, Port Area, Manila on May 19, 2026.

The activity served as a venue for knowledge-sharing and professional exchange on financial management systems, internal control mechanisms, auditing procedures, and best practices being implemented within the PCG. Resource speakers from the Centralized Payroll Management Unit of the CGFS, the Office of the Deputy Chief of Coast Guard Staff for Comptrollership, and the Coast Guard Internal Audit delivered lectures and discussions to the participants.

The IPV aimed to strengthen inter-agency collaboration and provide AFPFMC students with valuable insights into the PCG’s financial management operations and governance practices.

Through initiatives such as this, the PCG reaffirms its commitment to transparency, accountability, and excellence in public financial management in support of efficient and effective national service.

CPO Dumadag PCG completed CGNOSEC CL 05-2025 and was further recognized with a 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭 for achieving an exceptional Course Final Grade of 93.98%, with no module grade below 80%, in a class of forty (40) students.

CPO Torremonia PCG likewise completed CGNOSEC CL 06-2025 and was recognized as a 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐏𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐫, earning the highest grade of 94.00% in a class of forty (40) students.

Your achievements reflect the professionalism and competence of the Coast Guard Finance Service and serve as an inspiration to your fellow Coast Guardians in the pursuit of excellence and honorable public service.

The Coast Guard Education, Training and Doctrine Command, through the Philippine Coast Guard Academy, formally concluded CGCSC Class 22-2025 on April 17, 2026, at the Function Hall, National Headquarters – PCG, Port Area, Manila City, with VICE ADMIRAL HOSTILLO ARTURO E CORNELIO PCG, Deputy Commandant for Administration, serving as Guest of Honor and Speaker.

CGCSC Class 22-2025 was composed of 43 Student Officers from various PCG Units and Districts, representing both General and Technical Line Officers.

LT SAVILLA PCG’s successful completion of this course reflects her dedication, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to excellence in service. This achievement marks another significant milestone in her professional journey and further strengthens her capability to lead and serve in the Philippine Coast Guard.

COMMO PARAGAS PCG formally took his oath before Secretary Giovanni Lopez of the Department of Transportation at the National Headquarters Function Hall on April 16, 2026. This was followed by the traditional donning of ranks, symbolizing his transition to greater responsibility and the Philippine Coast Guard’s confidence in his leadership.

In his message to the newly promoted commodores, Commandant PCG, ADMIRAL RONNIE GIL L GAVAN PCG emphasized that flag rank entails higher accountability and ethical responsibility. He reaffirmed the commitment to foundational teams driving organizational success.

Recognized as one of the Philippine Coast Guard’s seasoned financial managers, this remarkable milestone reflects his exemplary leadership, deep expertise in financial management, and unwavering commitment to service. His promotion not only highlights his distinguished career but also marks a proud moment for the entire Coast Guard Finance Service, as a star rank has been achieved within the Service once again.

Once again, the CGFS family stands proud and honored to serve under your leadership, Sir. May your new rank inspire even greater achievements as you continue to guide the Service and the Philippine Coast Guard toward greater heights.
