Marikina Craftsmanship Meets Textile Science: PFFI Steps Onto the Global Stage at SalinHABI 🇵🇭
We are thrilled to stand alongside DOST - PTRI for the official launch of the SalinHABI Exhibition at the TELA Gallery! As the official co-creators of this movement, the Philippine Footwear Federation, Inc. (PFFI) is immensely proud to witness how science and local heritage are reshaping the future of Filipino footwear. This exhibition isn't just about beautiful design—it is a celebration of self-reliance and technological breakthrough. Through the SAFATOS Program (Shoes and Footwear Accessories R&D Towards Omnibus Solutions), our master shoemakers in Marikina City are transforming 100% locally sourced tropical textiles—like abaca, banana, bamboo, and pineapple leaf fibers—into world-class, sustainable footwear.
Through the SAFATOS Marikina initiative, PFFI is proud to be the official maker of the Miss Universe Philippines 2026 candidates' footwear. From the hands of our grassroots artisans to the brightest stages of pageantry, Marikina footwear is proving that sustainability and high fashion belong together. Seeing the Miss Universe Philippines 2026 titleholders tour the facilities underscores a massive milestone. Come see the future of Philippine footwear innovation! The exhibition is now open to the public at the TELA Gallery.
