These past two days were spent teaching SMES MC-ALERT the basics of safety and rescue, and it was great to see the students actively participate, learn, and have better understanding and knowledge about SDRRM.

We would like to thank Sir Jasper, SMES MC-ALERT’s adviser, for guiding the kids on their way to Parang High School and ensuring their safety throughout the training. And for also giving us the opportunity to teach our juniors about safety and rescue which is truly an honor.

We would also like to thank our Principal, Ma’am Glenda Trinidad, for taking the time to visit and show support to the students.

Thank you as well to our Adviser, Ma’am Catherine Balanga, for helping coordinate and support this activity, making it possible for our juniors to gain knowledge and skills in safety and rescue.

Big thanks also to our MC-ALERT officers for patiently teaching and guiding the kids, and to our alumni’s for their support, presence, and teaching throughout the activity.

FIRE PREVENTION MONTH 🚒

March is Fire Prevention Month. During this month, we promote awareness on how to prevent fires and protect our homes and community. Fire can destroy lives and property, and it can happen suddenly. That’s why it’s important to stay alert and know how to prevent it.

Fire Safety Tips to Prevent Fires:
🚨 Avoid overloading electrical outlets
🚨 Unplug and switch off appliances and LPG tanks when not in use
🚨 Keep flammable items away from children
🚨 Never leave the kitchen unattended while cooking

In Case of Fire:
🔥 Turn off the gas and electricity if it is safe to do so
⛔ Do not panic — stay calm
🧯 If you have a fire extinguisher, use it to put out small fires

Theme: Sa pag-iwas sa sunog, hindi ka nag-iisa

Be alert. Be prepared. Be safe.

Fire can start in seconds, and grow to a residential fire within minutes and the damage it causes can last a lifetime. That’s why awareness and prevention matter

This Fire Prevention Month, MC-ALERT reminds everyone that fire safety is everyone’s responsibility. From checking electrical connections to knowing what to do during emergencies, small actions can save lives and properties

Stay alert. Stay prepared. Let’s work together to keep our homes, schools and community safe

Last Thursday, February 26, 2026, MC-ALERT conducted the first fire drill of this year to practice staying calm and prepared in case of emergencies like this. Big thanks to our chairpersons, Angel Desiree and Kevin Abo, for leading and organizing everything.

We also want to thank the Barangay for letting us use their fire truck and assisting us both morning and afternoon during the drill. We truly appreciate the support the Barangay has given us.

And of course, thank you to our alumni for guiding, supporting, and helping us in conducting this drill. Your presence and experience made a big difference!

From running around and shouting until everyone got tired, your hard work truly paid off.

Big thanks to our Chairpersons, Akisha Gale and Prince Caleb, for their dedication and for making this activity possible. Thank you as well to all the officers who came and continuously support the organization through their hard work and commitment.

Special appreciation to MC-ALERT alumni’s for guiding, teaching, and supporting both officers and members throughout the training, especially during emergency situations.

Parang High School proudly joined the NATIONAL SIMULTANEOUS EARTHQUAKE DRILL (NSED) led by MC-ALERT’s Chairperson, Jilliane Masanda. The drill turned out to be a success! PHSians showed how alert and prepared they are when it comes to safety and emergencies. Everyone did great — from duck, cover, and hold to calmly heading to the evacuation area. Despite the crowd of students gathered in one place, everyone stayed composed and handled the situation really well.

Special thank you to our Former Adviser Sir Sison, for guiding us throughout the drill. And to the barangay officials who lent their support and assistance. Last but not least, a big thank you to our alumni's, Aaron Bajo and Jhunnie Tiamzon, for helping with the medic and rescue's!

On October 23–24, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, our team successfully conducted maintenance and repairs on the school’s alarm bell system, covering the Gym, QTech Building, and Candazo Building.

We extend our sincerest gratitude to Sir Henry Gallardo of the TLE Department for his invaluable assistance and technical support throughout this two-day task.

This initiative was made possible through the joint efforts of Alumni Jhunnie, Aaron Lawrence, and Kent, together with Officer Laurence Galimao. A big thank you for your hard work and time!

PHS joins the citywide earthquake drill!

Parang High School joins the citywide earthquake drill, led by MC-ALERT’s President, Jonina Rose Ricacho. The drill was a success, showing how prepared and alert our students are when it comes to emergencies and safety. Everyone followed the procedures — from duck, cover, and hold to evacuating calmly and responsibly. Even under the scorching heat, everyone stayed focused and gave their best throughout the drill. It’s great to see the cooperation of both students and teachers working together for everyone’s safety.

Always be prepared, aware, and ready.
