The DILG Masbate, under the leadership of PD Julius Rodel L. Cal-Ortiz, CESO V, through the Local Government Capability Development Section (LGCDS), successfully conducted the Provincial Implementation of the Local Government Code Review and Amendment Program (RevAmP) Phase IV โ€“ LGU Perspective on September 29, 2026, at B@mโ€™s Restobar, Boulevard Extension, Masbate City.

The activity was attended by the MLGOOs of DILG Masbate and representatives from various local government units who presented their proposed amendments and recommendations to the Local Government Code of 1991 (RA 7160).

The activity served as a platform for LGU representatives to share their experiences, concerns, and recommendations based on their actual implementation of local governance policies and programs.

Through meaningful discussions and exchanges, the participants were able to identify key areas where improvements may help address emerging challenges in local governance and support more effective delivery of basic services to communities.

The DILG Masbate Sub-Local Governance Regional Resource Center (Sub-LGRRC) successfully conducted its 3rd Quarter Sub-LGRRC and GADFPS Meeting on September 24, 2026 via Zoom Platform.

The meeting was presided over by LGOO VII Joel O. Logenio, Cluster Head of Cluster 1, representing Provincial Director Julius Rodel L. Cal-Ortiz, CESO V. The activity served as an important platform for collaboration, assessment, and strategic planning among Sub-LGRRC members.

Key agenda discussed during the meeting included the Updates and Accomplishments from the Provincial Office, Cluster 1, and Cluster 2, Milestones and Best Practices from LGUs and the Sub-LGRRC, Updates on MSAC Partners and Activities, Upcoming Activities for the LGC Month, Updates on the GAD Focal Point System, and Other Matters.

Furthermore, the meeting included discussions on the early preparatory activities for the 2027 GAD Assessment, highlighting the continued commitment of the Sub-LGRRC to strengthening knowledge management, fostering partnerships, and enhancing capacity development initiatives in support of responsive, inclusive, and effective local governance.

๐’๐„๐‚๐“๐ˆ๐Ž๐ ๐”๐๐ƒ๐€๐“๐„ | The DILG Masbate Provincial Operations Office, in partnership with the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), successfully conducted the Provincial Roll-Out of CBMS Module III-B: โ€œUtilizing CBMS Data in the CDPโ€ on September 8โ€“10, 2026, at Amparoโ€™s Garden, Masbate City.

The three-day learning activity aimed to strengthen the capacity of LGUs in utilizing Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) data in the preparation and enhancement of their Comprehensive Development Plans (CDPs).

The activity was graced by Provincial Director Julius Rodel L. Cal-Ortiz, CESO V, who delivered the Welcome Message, emphasizing the importance of strengthening local planning through reliable and relevant community data.

The discussions and interactive workshops were led by LGOO II Trecemar V. Danao, Mr. Ace R. Verano, from PSA, together with DILG officers LGOO VII Summer Hope C. Bulalaque, LGOO VI Myla J. Borres, LGOO VI Nica Angelica B. Luzong, and LGOO VI Glenda S. Ibaรฑez, who shared their expertise throughout the sessions on data analysis, ecological profiling, visioning, goal formulation, and the development of responsive PPAs.

The activity concluded with action planning, synthesis, and a closing message from DILG Program Manager LGOO VI Jane Conrado-Abadies, emphasizing the importance of transforming CBMS data into concrete actions responsive to the needs of local communities.

Through this learning activity, LGUs are better equipped to turn data into meaningful insights, informed plans, and responsive programs and projects for their communities.

Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Committees (BDRRMCs), in coordination with their respective Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils (MDRRMCs), took part in the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED).

The activity showcased the vital role of BDRRMCs as the first line of preparedness and response in their communities. Through the drill, participating barangays practiced earthquake safety measures, evacuation procedures, and coordination protocols to strengthen their readiness for emergencies.

The NSED highlights that disaster resilience begins at the grassroots, where prepared communities can respond quickly, safely, and collectively.

From municipalities to barangays, preparedness is everyoneโ€™s responsibility.
