DTI Backs Inauguration of Sudipen i-LEAD IT Hub
The Department of Trade and Industry โ La Union supported the inauguration and blessing of the Sudipen Innovative Leadership for Equitable and Accessible Democracy (i-LEAD) Information Technology (IT) Hub on May 28, 2026 at the Ground Floor of the Sudipen Legislative Building. This marked a significant milestone in the municipalityโs digital transformation journey. The launching was led by Mayor Wendy Joy A. Dengayan while the blessing ceremony was officiated by Rev. Victor Dagacan. It was attended by municipal officials, employees, partner institutions, and agencies.
Among the partakers present were the Catalyste+ i-LEAD Project team led by Sir Mateo G. Navalta, Sir Erwin L. Altamarino, and Sir Albert Emmanuel S. Permalino. Also in attendance were Dr. Angelina T. Gonzales, Dr. Bernardo D. Lamadrid, and Dr. Sheena S. Guillen from the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University. The Department of Trade and Industry Regional and Provincial Offices were represented by Ms. Michelle M. Villanueva and Ms. Michelle M. De Jesus, respectively.
During the opening program, the IT Hub officers presented the digital programs, activities, and services offered through the facility. The IT Hub will serve as a center for Information and Communications Technology, enabling Local Government Unit (LGU) employees and constituents to access digital tools, online services and information resources.
A key initiative highlighted during the event was the IT Hubโs support for Business One-Stop Shop operations from January to February 2027. This aims to make business-related transactions more efficient and accessible to the public.
The Municipality of Sudipen proudly holds the distinction of being the first municipality in La Union and the first LGU in Region 1 to establish an i-LEAD IT Hub. It is also the ninth LGU in the Philippines to inaugurate such facility under the Catalyste+ in partnership with eGovernance for Institutions Inc. and funded by Global Affairs Canada.
Indeed, the IT Hub symbolizes a shared commitment to building a more connected and empowered community.
