The declaration honors and recognizes the dedication and invaluable contributions of teachers to education, youth development, and the community.

The Local Government Unit of Upi extends its sincere appreciation to all teachers for their continued service and commitment to shaping the future of the nation.

SECTION 1. SUSPENSION OF CLASSES.
Classes in all levels in public and private schools within the territorial jurisdiction of the Municipality of Upi, Maguindanao del Norte, are hereby suspended on 05 October 2026 (Monday) in observance of World Teachers’ Day, subject to applicable laws, Department of Education policies, and existing rules and regulations.

SECTION 2. RECOGNITION OF TEACHERS.
The Municipality recognizes that the contributions of teachers and school personnel extend beyond the classroom. Their work contributes to the academic, personal, and social development of learners and to the well-being of the community.

Accordingly, this Executive Order shall serve as one concrete expression of the Municipality’s appreciation for teachers and school personnel and shall complement, rather than replace, existing programs of the Department of Education and schools concerning teacher recognition, welfare, professional development, and support.

SECTION 3. CONTINUITY OF LEARNING.
The suspension of classes under this Executive Order shall not be construed as a reduction in the required learning competencies or educational standards.

Any necessary adjustment to the school calendar, learning activities, or make-up arrangements shall be undertaken by the concerned schools in coordination with the appropriate DepEd authorities and in accordance with existing national policies and guidelines.

Update | 𝐂𝐃𝐖𝐬, 𝐒𝐍𝐏𝐬 𝐄𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲-𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠

The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Upi, through the Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator (MPDC) Office, conducted a two-day Capacity Development Training for Child Development Workers (CDWs) and Supervised Neighborhood Play Workers (SNPs) on September 22–23, 2026, at the Municipal Gymnasium.

The training aimed to strengthen the knowledge and skills of CDWs and SNPs in delivering quality early childhood care and development services to young children in the municipality.

Facilitated by Social Welfare Officer III Ahlam M. Bajunaid, the training covered key topics under the National Early Learning Curriculum, including learning environments, curriculum content and strategies, assessment and evaluation, and the use of the Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Checklist.

Participants also engaged in demonstrations, activity planning, concept web development, and discussions on the Nurturing Care Framework, Philippine Early Learning and Development Standards (PELDS), and young children’s developmental milestones.

The sessions also tackled the standards and guidelines for the Center-Based Early Childhood Program and the conversion of Day Care Centers (DCCs) into Child Development Centers (CDCs).

The activity concluded with the awarding of certificates to participants and closing messages from the LGU.

This training continues to strengthen the capacity of its child development workers and support programs that promote the growth and well-being of young children in the community.
