Learning & Sharing: Tinapa Makers of Olongapo City Visited Linda’s and Amanda’s Fish Processing Center in Balanga, Bataan

In a bid to improve skills, enhance product quality, and adopt better processing practices, tinapa makers from Olongapo City, together with representatives from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Olongapo City and DTI – Balanga, conducted a benchmarking activity at Linda’s Fish Processing Center and Amanda’s Fish Processing Center in Balanga, Bataan.

The group had the opportunity to observe firsthand the established processes, techniques, and standards used by these renowned processing centers. They learned valuable insights on proper selection of raw materials, curing methods, smoking techniques, packaging, and quality control measures that contribute to producing high-quality and marketable tinapa products.

This activity serves as a great platform for knowledge exchange and partnership between local producers and government agencies. The lessons and best practices gathered here will be brought back and applied by our very own tinapa makers in Olongapo City, aiming to elevate our local products, meet market standards, and further strengthen our local fishery sector.

SECURING THE FUTURE: From Natural History to Community Progress

Today, our team together with CPDO and City Assessor Office, inspected the proposed project site in Brgy. Kalaklan—a unique area formed by natural accretion following the Mt. Pinatubo eruption.

While the fishport vision has been in discussion for nearly four years, the LGU is taking concrete action today by initializing the application for its tax declaration.

This crucial step isn't just about future utilization; it is about immediate protection. By legally securing this land, we are safeguarding a valuable asset for the public. Our goal is to transform this space into a sustainable hub for local livelihood and coastal tourism—ensuring that land born from nature directly benefits our fishing community and the local economy.

Step by step, we are building a more resilient future under the leadership of Mayor Lenj Paulino.

Earlier today, our team conducted an ocular inspection at Rizal Extension, Brgy. Barretto, as one of the possible sites for our upcoming tree planting activity in celebration of our city’s 60th founding anniversary.

We assessed the area’s condition, suitability, and layout to ensure this initiative will be meaningful, sustainable, and beneficial to our community. This activity is more than just planting trees — it’s our way of giving back to nature, greening our surroundings, and leaving a lasting legacy for the next generations as we mark this historic milestone.

More details about the schedule, activities, and how you can join will follow soon. Let’s work together to make our 60th anniversary celebration green and memorable!

Just finished administering Vitamin ADE and B-Complex injections to our goats. These supplements play a vital role in keeping them healthy, supporting strong immunity, good vision, healthy skin, proper nerve function, and better energy levels. Perfect for growth, reproduction, and overall well-being.

Alongside the injections, we also monitored and recorded their individual weights. Tracking weight regularly helps us check their growth progress, adjust feeding plans properly, and ensure every goat is developing as they should.
