With the strong support of Governor Divina Grace C. Yu, the Kalanisan Project is introducing clean and high-efficiency cookstoves to communities across Zamboanga del Sur, helping reduce indoor air pollution, increase fuel savings, and lower carbon emissions.

A total of 146,000 improved cookstoves will be distributed to households in Zamboanga del Sur to replace traditional wood-burning stoves. This initiative will be registered under Verra’s Verified Carbon Standard to ensure certified climate benefits.

Kalanisan is composed of local and international Filipinos working hand in hand with local government to deliver sustainable, community-based solutions.

Through this project, households can save 50 to 80 percent on fuelwood—significantly reducing expenses, cutting the time spent collecting firewood, and lowering indoor pollution by up to 77 percent, leading to major cost savings for families.

In light of this, we invite women, mothers, and households to the Stakeholder Consultation and Launch on 7 April 2026 sa Maguindanao Hall, Provincial Government Complex sa Dao, Pagadian City.

Zamboanga del Sur has taken a bold step onto the global stage following its initial meeting with Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea for a proposed Provincial Sisterhood partnership.

Governor Divina Grace Yu said the initiative marks a significant milestone in expanding the province’s global reach and creating opportunities for its people through international collaboration.

The discussion covered key areas such as exchange visits, sharing of professional, agricultural, and technical expertise, as well as partnerships in music and culture.

Opportunities in business development, employment, and scholarship programs were also explored to further strengthen inclusive growth.

This move positions Zamboanga del Sur as a rising hub for global partnerships and sustainable development.
