Alabang, Muntinlupa City — The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) posted on its official website FDA Advisory No. 2025-0511, informing the public of the forthcoming issuance of an implementing circular regarding the temporary suspension of Administrative Order (AO) No. 2024-0016, which prescribes the institutionalization of the new schedule of fees and charges.

On June 10, 2025, the Secretary of Health approved and signed Department Circular No. 2025-0240, officially setting forth the guidelines for the suspension of AO No. 2024-0016. The Suspension Circular provides that AO No. 2024-0016 is suspended for a period of 60 days, unless earlier lifted or extended by the Secretary of Health.

During his one-month stint in the FDA, Director General Paolo S. Teston acknowledges the ongoing economic recovery of industries, most especially micro, small and medium enterprises, and further emphasizes the importance of maintaining regulatory compliance that is both accessible and sustainable.

Even with this deferment, the FDA reiterates its unwavering commitment to its mandate to protect public health by ensuring access to safe, effective, and high-quality health products. During this period, the agency is also pursuing improvements in the efficiency, clarity, and responsiveness of its regulatory services.
