Municipal Agriculture Office - LGU San Vicente, Palawan

In collaboration with the Department of Agriculture (DA) MIMAROPA Region and Provincial Agriculture Office (PAgO), the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) conducted a two-day Seminar-Workshop on Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) Certification Process and a two-day Farm Assessment of potential farms for PGS Application
In a bid to bolster a sustainable food system through the promotion of chemical-free food production, the MAO facilitated a two-day Seminar-Workshop on Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) Certification Process held at MAO Training Center, Brgy. Poblacion on February 19-20, 2024. It was co-facilitated by the representatives from the Organic Agriculture Program (OAP) of DA-RFO-MIMAROPA, Mr. Jomel S. Pasia and PAgO through Ms. Johanna Mae Alvarez, and was attended by organic agriculture knowledgeable farmers from Brgy. Caruray and PAMANA farmers from the different Barangays of San Vicente.
The two-day Seminar-Workshop aimed to capacitate the potential farmers in San Vicente who are currently practicing chemical-free farming practices and provide opportunities for them to develop their discipline as organic certified practitioners through the PGS. It was loaded with comprehensive discussions on the Philippine National Standards for Organic Agriculture; Salient Provisions of RA 11511 (amended RA 10068 also known as “Organic Agriculture Act of 2010”); and PGS Orientation, Certification and Accreditation Process. The interactive topics delivered by Mr. Jomel S. Pasia gave the participants opportunity to have their questions answered and experiences in chemical-free farming shared to their fellow farmers. In addition, the participants were briefed by Ms. Johanna Mae Alvarez on how to organize the PGS including their duties and function. The participants also actively engaged with the workshop on writing Management Plan for Organic Production. The activity was concluded by a closing program wherein each participant was given a certificate and a token (1 bottle of molasses and 3 can + 1 packet of seeds) from the Provincial Agriculture Office.
The strengthened partnership between the MAO and the personnel from DA-MIMAROPA and PAgO underscores the commitment of the sector for the competitive development of Organic Agriculture in the country. With the goal to push through the formation of the PGS Core Group in San Vicente this year, the OA handlers are hopeful to deliver more interventions and positive impact to the community.

Ang mga rehistradong rice farmers, livestock farmers at fisherfolks ng Sam Vicente ay nakatanggap ng pinansyal na tulong mula sa PCIC. Sa tulong ng ating Lokal na Pamahalaan kasama ang masigasig na mga staff ng Municipal Agriculture Office sa pangunguna ng aming butihing Municipal Agriculturist, Rufino I. Clavecilla, sa tulong ni Mr. Medjie Zabalo, Ms.Emilyn Maarat at Ms. Joan Favillaran, katuwang ang PCIC Technical Staffs sa pangunguna ni Sir Prince Lamprea Padul. Maayos na nai-proseso at ipinamahagi sa mga apektadong magsasaka at mangingisda ang tulong.

Ang Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation o mas kilala sa PCIC ay isang ahensya ng gobyerno na ang layunin ay tulungan ang mga Magsasaka at Mangingisda sa rehabilitasyon upang makabangong muli mula sa pagkakapinsala ng mga nagdaang kalamidad. Ang mga pangunahing benepisyaryo nito ay ang mga magsasaka at mangingisda na nasa talaan ng RSBSA - Registery System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture. Ang halagang natanggap ng mga benepisyaryo ng programa ay naka depende sa pinsalanang natamo. Ang mga dokumento na isinumite ng ating mga farmers at Fisherfolk ay dumaan sa mabusising assessment at ebalwasyon alinsunod sa protocol ng PCIC. Ganun pa man ay positibo kami na sa simpleng ayuda na ito ay nabigyan natin ng pag-asa ang ating mga kababayan upang magpatuloy sa kanilang hanapbuhay.

Kaya laging pakatatandaan, siguraduhing kayo ay naka rehistro sa RSBSA at nakapag-apply kayo sa PCIC.

Patuloy na hinihikayat ng MAO na ang bawat magsasaka at mangingisda ng bayan ay sikaping makapagparehistro sa RSBSA at tiyaking naka-seguro sa PCIC ang mga pananim at alagang hayop upang matiyak ang malaking tulong na ito sa pagbangong muli sa kabila ng mga di inaasahang sakuna.

#𝗥𝗦𝗕𝗦𝗔 | Ang Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA) ay isang elektronikong talaan ng mga payak na impormasyon ng mga magsasaka at mangingisda. Ang database ng RSBSA ay naglalaman ng impormasyon ukol sa kanilang profayl, tulad ng pangalan, edad, adres, lawak ng sinasaka, uri ng inaani, at iba pa.

Magparehistro na sa RSBSA upang maging benepisyaryo ng mga interbensyon ng Kagawaran ng Pagsasaka.

Upang makapagpa-rehistro, magtungo lamang sa inyong Municipal o City Agriculture Office at kayo ay tutulongan sa mga rekisito.
