𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 🚸

Barangay Pandan proudly joins the citywide initiative to ensure safer roads for our learners. Through the Child Road Safety Program led by the Angeles City LGU specifically the Angeles City Traffic Development Office, Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, and DepEd Angeles, Barangay Pandan is taking active steps to protect students in all schools under its jurisdiction, including Jose P. Dizon Elementary School, Francisco G. Nepomuceno Memorial High School, San Ignacio Elementary School, and Angeles City Senior High School.

Key Initiatives:

• Repairing and improving pedestrian lanes and sidewalk fences near school zones
• Monitoring and maintaining school traffic signages according to international safety standards
• Deploying dedicated traffic supervisors to manage safety in school zones
• Supporting policies and resolutions to strengthen school road safety
• Ensuring sidewalks and footpaths remain obstruction-free for student safety

These measures reflect Barangay Pandan’s commitment to child-friendly streets and safe learning environments. Every action taken helps ensure that our students can travel to and from school safely.

This recognition was made possible through the 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿 𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 (𝗦𝗥𝟰𝗦) program developed by iRAP and facilitated by UP-NCTS, ImagineLaw, and UNICEF Philippines.

In line with this milestone, the administration under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II continues to make 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 a top priority. Through the initiative of the Local Government Unit, the 𝗖𝗛𝗜𝗟𝗗 𝗥𝗢𝗔𝗗 𝗦𝗔𝗙𝗘𝗧𝗬 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗠 was created to strengthen safer school zones, improve road infrastructure, promote road safety education, and protect every child on the road.

Recently, the Technical Working Group (TWG) composed of the Angeles City Traffic Development Office (ACTDO), Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (ACDRRMO) and Department of Education (DepEd) Angeles City conducted visits to Barangay Sto. Rosario and Barangay Pulungbulu to present and share the LGU’s Child Road Safety Program.

During the discussions, the TWG highlighted the importance of installing and sustaining basic school traffic signages based on international standards to ensure safer roads for school children.

Both barangays committed to actively support and become part of the program by:

• Repairing and improving pedestrian lanes and sidewalk fences
• Monitoring and sustaining basic school signages
• Deploying dedicated traffic supervisors in school zones
• Authoring policies and resolutions to strengthen school road safety measures
• Ensuring sidewalks and footpaths remain free from obstructions for safer pedestrian movement

This initiative reflects the city’s continued commitment to creating safer, more child-friendly roads and school environments for every Angeleño learner.
