AFP Welcomes Strong Public Support for National Defense Efforts

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) welcomed the results of the latest Tugon ng Masa (TNM) nationwide survey conducted by OCTA Research from March 19 to 25, 2026, which showed that 76 percent of adult Filipinos support the government’s efforts to defend the country’s territory and sovereign rights, including the West Philippine Sea.

Conducted nationwide, the survey showed the strongest support in National Capital Region at 83 percent, followed by Luzon at 77 percent, underscoring the strong public backing for the protection of the country’s sovereignty and national interests.

The AFP remains committed to performing its mandate with professionalism, operational readiness, and adherence to international law in order to safeguard the nation’s territorial integrity and support a peaceful and rules-based regional order.

The Wing Commander of the 960th Air and Missile Defense Wing, BGEN FRANCIS KAREM E NERI PAF, engaged personnel of the Wing in a focused command activity that underscored operational competence, mission readiness, and personnel welfare.

The activity provided an opportunity to assess recent operational and training activities, reinforce command guidance, and recognize the dedication, discipline, and professionalism of 960AMDW personnel. More than a routine engagement, it highlighted the Wing’s continuing role in strengthening the Philippine Air Force’s air and missile defense capability amid evolving security challenges.

In his message, BGEN NERI emphasized the importance of readiness, teamwork, and sustained competence in the performance of the Wing’s mission. He likewise commended the personnel for their commitment and contributions to recent command-directed activities, military exercises, and mission support efforts.

Through disciplined service and continued capability development, the 960AMDW remains committed to supporting the PAF’s mission of safeguarding the nation’s airspace and contributing to national security.

AFP Ranks Among Top Trusted Government Institutions in Latest TNM Survey

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) welcomes the results of the latest Tugon ng Masa (TNM) nationwide survey conducted by OCTA Research from March 19 to 25, 2026, which show that 72% of adult Filipinos trust the AFP, while 70% express satisfaction with its service performance.

The AFP noted that these results place the institution among the most trusted and best-performing government agencies in the country, reflecting sustained public confidence in its mandate and overall performance.

Conducted nationwide across the National Capital Region (NCR), Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, the survey shows that the AFP’s trust and performance ratings have remained steady over the past three quarters. Regionally, the highest trust (75%) and satisfaction (73%) ratings for the AFP are recorded in the Visayas.

The AFP expressed its appreciation to the Filipino people for their continued confidence and support, emphasizing that public trust serves as a vital motivation for its personnel to further strengthen professionalism, accountability, and excellence in service as it fulfills its constitutional mandate.

The 960th Air and Missile Defense Wing proudly welcomed the Acting Commander of the Air Defense Command, BGen Rolando Conrad B Peña III, together with his party, during their visit to the Headquarters, 960AMDW.

The delegation was warmly received by the Wing Commander, BGen Francis Karem E Neri, alongside the Wing’s key officers and staff, reflecting the strong leadership and unity within the Air Defense community.

As part of the visit, BGen Peña III conducted a Talk to Troops, where he shared his guidance, leadership insights, and words of encouragement to the personnel of the Wing. His message emphasized professionalism, mission readiness, commitment to duty, and the vital role of every Air Defense Warrior in safeguarding the nation’s skies.

The visit further strengthened camaraderie, reinforced operational excellence, and highlighted the Air Defense Command’s continued commitment to capable, mission-ready, and service-oriented personnel.

The 960th Air and Missile Defense Wing (960AMDW) successfully organized a MSO Forum, attended by counterparts from the Philippine Army Artillery Regiment. The delegation was led by Colonel Jose Noel G Romero, highlighting the strong collaboration between air and land-based defense units.

The forum proper was led by Colonel Maynard P Mariano, Deputy Wing Commander of the 960AMDW, who guided the discussions and facilitated the exchange of operational insights between participating units.

The visiting delegation was warmly welcomed by Brigadier General Francis Karem E Neri, Wing Commander of the 960AMDW. As part of the engagement, a courtesy call was conducted, reinforcing mutual respect and strengthening inter-service relations.

The forum served as a platform for the exchange of expertise, emphasizing the critical role of multi-domain integration and operational synergy between air and ground defense systems. This initiative underscores the shared commitment of both services to enhance coordination and build a more synchronized and formidable national defense posture.

960th AMDW Hosts Courtesy Call

In a continuing effort to strengthen bilateral defense cooperation and operational interoperability, the 960th Air and Missile Defense Wing hosted a courtesy call at the Wing Headquarters.

Brigadier General Francis Karem E Neri, Wing Commander of the 960th AMDW, formally received Lieutenant Colonel Kenneth Collins, Battalion Commander of the 1-51 Air Defense Artillery (ADA), 1st Multi-Domain Task Force (1MDTF).

The engagement reflects the enduring partnership between the Philippine Air Force and its international counterparts, fostering closer coordination in advancing integrated air and missile defense capabilities and multi-domain operational synergy.
