Mabalacat City, Philippines โ In a significant step towards fostering international cooperation and cultural exchange, Mabalacat City College (MCC) warmly welcomed a delegation from Gwancheon City, Korea, led by Vice Mayor Ha Seung-jin on August 02, 2023. The occasion marked a courtesy visit, followed by a productive meeting and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two institutions.
The delegation was welcomed by Dr. Michelle Aguilar-Ong, College President. The event was graced by the presence of Kim Dong-seok, Director of Economic Welfare Bureau; Seo Hey Ran, Team Leader of Youth; and Seo Ji In, Officer in Charge, representing Gwancheon City. It goes beyond academic cooperation; it's about nurturing global citizens who are culturally sensitive and well-prepared for the challenges of an interconnected world."
Vice Mayor Ha Seung-jin echoed her sentiments, adding, "Gwancheon City is excited to embark on this journey of mutual growth and understanding with Mabalacat City College. Through education and cultural exchange, we believe we can contribute to a more harmonious and prosperous future."
The MoU outlines a range of collaborative initiatives that promise to enrich the academic experience of students from both institutions. This initiative aims to provide education opportunities to those who might otherwise face barriers to higher education.
Furthermore, the partnership sets the stage for cultural immersion, as MCC students will have the chance to showcase the rich tapestry of Philippine culture during their visits to Gwancheon City for exchange programs. This will not only create a platform for cultural diplomacy but also provide MCC students with a unique opportunity to share their heritage with an international audience.
